General Description: The Mgr Optical Shop works with opticians to ensure a high level of customer service is delivered to each and every patient while achieving sales goals, works with vendors to keep costs down for the optical shops as well as the lab, and manages optical and lab budgets to ensure budget goals are met.
Essential Responsibilities:

Supervise staff. Issue warnings, conduct performance appraisals, and handle personnel issues as they arise.
Coordinate time reports and leave requests.
Complete new hire information, schedule training, and complete necessary forms.
Ensure staff are well equipped to perform their duties.
Establish and maintain relationships with vendors.
Create and manage optical and lab budgets.
Maintain optical and lab inventory.
Address patient grievances as necessary.
Fill in for employee absences as necessary.
Travel to all locations once a month to meet with employees and managers.
Maintain a relationship with staff of all levels.
Create and run reports as necessary.
Stay up to date on optical and lab software and implement updates as needed.
Look into new products for optical.
Manage Rainbolt Fund, optical payroll, and New Eyes Vouchers.
Work with charge entry staff to ensure charges are filed correctly.
General Responsibilities:
Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's Degree required.
Experience: Five years of optical or lab experience required. Three years of progressive leadership experience required.
License(s)/Certification(s)/Registration(s) Required: Certification through the American Board of Opticianry required.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of management and organizational processes and policies.
Ability to plan, organize, direct, and schedule employees.
Ability to train and mentor other personnel.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Proficient with the use of Microsoft Office tools.
