JOB PURPOSE

The HR Officer acts as the primary people partner for the assigned country, responsible for leading and executing the local HR strategy in alignment with the company’s global vision and values.

This role combines operational excellence, strategic talent leadership, and cultural stewardship, ensuring compliant, efficient, and people-centered HR operations while driving long-term organizational effectiveness.

The HR Officer serves as a trusted advisor to leadership, owns the employee lifecycle, and is accountable for talent development, succession planning, performance management, and the evolution of company culture at the country level.

Duties & Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Strategic & Leadership Responsibilities

  • Partner with country leadership to translate business objectives into people strategies.
  • Lead the implementation of HR initiatives aligned with global HR frameworks and local business needs.
  • Own and drive the performance management cycle, ensuring consistency, fairness, and development-focused outcomes.
  • Act as culture steward, monitoring, reinforcing, and being accountable for the progress of company culture, values, and behaviors.

Talent, Development & Employee Experience

  • Lead recruitment efforts for the country, ensuring high-quality, timely, and inclusive hiring practices.
  • Lead employee engagement, wellbeing, safety, health, and welfare programs.
  • Act as a key contributor and decision-maker in employee communications, ensuring clarity, consistency, and cultural alignment.

Employee Relations & Compliance

  • Provide high-quality guidance to management on employee relations, performance issues, and conflict resolution.
  • Ensure full compliance with local labor laws, employment regulations, and internal policies.
  • Maintain strong relationships with external advisors when required (legal, labor, benefits).

HR Operations & Administration

  • Oversee and maintain accurate HR records, HRIS data, and reporting.
  • Support payroll and Finance teams with payroll processes and audits as required.
  • Ensure accurate administration of employee data, benefits, compensation changes, incentives, and time-off tracking.
  • Lead onboarding, orientation, and offboarding processes, ensuring a positive and compliant employee experience.
  • Evaluate HR metrics, reports, and outcomes to drive continuous improvement.

Continuous Improvement

  • Identify opportunities to improve HR processes, systems, and employee experience.
  • Recommend and implement new approaches, policies, and practices to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Participate in leadership meetings, projects, and initiatives as required.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
  • 3+ years of progressive experience in Human Resources, including leadership responsibilities.
  • Strong knowledge of HR best practices, labor law, and employee relations.
  • Proven experience in performance management, talent development, and succession planning.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and influencing skills.
  • High level of integrity, cultural awareness, and emotional intelligence.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook).
  • HR certification (PHR, SPHR or equivalent) preferred.
  • Bilingual (English & Spanish) strongly preferred; additional languages are a plus.
