The Senior Engineering Manager is responsible for the techno-functional impact analysis, design & code construction activities of software development for Retail Pharmacy systems releases, strong technical and functional skills are key to perform this role successfully.  The current list of systems includes multiple applications including, but not limited, to the Tier 1 systems for Retail Pharmacy.

Ideal candidate can work remotely anywhere in the US or hybrid model if they are located in IL, RI or AZ

Responsibilities /Duties:

  • Identifying production and non-production application issues
  • Communicate and collaborate with other managers, stakeholders, and contractors
  • Prioritize, delegate, and supervise all engineers’ activities and deliverables
  • Manage, support, and evaluate engineers’ performance
  • Hire new talent for the team and offer coaching and development opportunities

Required Skills:

  • 7+ years software development and requirement analysis, design experience
  • 5+ years of proven experience in product engineering leadership roles
  • 5+ years successfully working in IT projects in an Agile development methodology
  • 3+ years experience working on multiple IT projects on varying technology stacks especially cloud-based technologies Azure or GCP
  • 3+ years experience in modern programming languages and cloud-based technologies

Preferred skills:

  • Works with a sense of urgency in completing tasks and resolving issues to deliver a quality project on time and within budget
  • Proven experience as a software designer and developer in understanding business requirements and translating into software solutions
  • Hands on solution design and best coding practices
  • A passion for innovation, with a customer-centric mindset focused on delivering exceptional user experiences
  • Detail-oriented for understanding complex systems and the ability to pay attention to details, as a minor error can result in major problems
  • Worked in traditional Infrastructure as well as Cloud based deployment environments
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, capable of working effectively with cross-functional teams and influencing technical and strategic decision-making
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a data-driven approach to product development and optimization
  • Experience with Agile methodologies and familiarity with product management tools such as Jira, Confluence, Rally, or equivalent product engineering collaboration tools
  • Masters in Computer Science related program

Education:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience (HS diploma + 4 years relevant experience)

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:

$118,450.00 - $260,590.00


This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls.  The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors.  This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.  This position also includes an award target in the company’s equity award program.
