Department Overview

The Cloud Platforms & Services team is responsible for the development and operations of critical cloud infrastructure and platform services, in support of Motorola Solutions' public and hybrid cloud-based Software as a Service (SaaS) solutions for public safety customers. This team is part of Motorola Solutions’ Software Enterprise division, which offers secure, reliable and efficient team communications, workflow and operational intelligence solutions for mission critical public safety and enterprise markets throughout the world. Our services leverage Cloud Computing infrastructure on Azure, AWS, GCP to build at scale.

Job Description

We are looking for a passionate Software Engineer, a Problem Solver to join the CommandCentral Drive cloud product. Your responsibilities will include:

• Influence and create new designs, software, architecture, and methods for deploying large-scale distributed systems

• Be a contributing member of the team that define the technical approach, system and software architecture, and API design of Motorola Solutions next generation centralized storage

• Learn and deeply understand the range of Motorola Solutions internal platforms

• Create a technical approach and a design for new features that span the organization

• Drive new capabilities and requirements in our platforms to support new product features

• Take part in an on-call rotation (one sprint on, multiple sprint off)

Basic Requirements

Basic requirements

• Over 3 years of experience in Software Development and minimum two years of experience in developing scalable, cloud hosted applications.

• Knowledge C#, .Net Core.

• Willingness to work on any problem type - development, testing, deployment automation.

• Ability to learn and quickly adapt to solve practical problems.

• Effective verbal and written English communication skills.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Math or related fields or equivalent experience.

Optional/Desired Qualifications

• Experience with hosting and developing applications using public cloud (Amazon AWS or Microsoft Azure or GCP) would be a plus.

• Software development skills in Python.

• Familiarity with Kubernetes.

• Linux operating system knowledge.
