Allied Global Marketing is hiring a Director of Multicultural Publicity & Marketing. While the role is remote, we are looking for candidates in either the Los Angeles or NYC area. 

The ideal candidate will be a reliable team player and leader with a passion and active interest in publicity targeting the African American audience. This position is responsible for developing and implementing multicultural publicity & marketing campaigns for a range of clients. Responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage forward-thinking strategic, engaging and attention-grabbing multi-platform PR & Marketing campaigns for a range of entertainment and brand clients targeting the African American audience.
  • Pitch and secure national and regional press coverage for projects via print, TV, radio, podcast and online media
  • Research and develop ideas for content generation, as well as seeding and submission of the content to relevant sources
  • Experienced in creating cultural marketing campaigns for various clients that will resonant with the various AA audiences that we will be targeting
  • Write, create and distribute pitch letters, press releases, signature stories and media rollout campaigns
  • Manage press junkets; red carpet premieres, special screenings, festivals and conferences for campaigns including award shows and more.
  • Help manage partnerships and community engagement
  • Explore and execute trade media and marketing opportunities surrounding campaigns
  • Create and edit press materials for respective edits; edits copy from junior staff
  • Can identify and secure influencers for campaigns on behalf of clients
  • Ability to lead results-driven initiatives and identify potential issues and troubleshoot
  • Work with SVP and executive staff on identifying new business opportunities for the Agency
  • Ability to develop, retain, and grow media relationships with media outlets
  • Manage campaign schedules, timelines and interviews; organized press & promotional tours for title releases and launches
  • Manage budget allocation and supervise vendor payment and invoicing for all campaign related costs

 

Qualifications:                                                                                    

  • 5-7 years of experience at an agency or an in-house PR/Marketing department with direct client interaction
  • Bachelor's Degree in Public Relations, Communications, Marketing, Business or related field
  • Excellent communication and relationship building skills with a proven and established PR network including high level contacts at all entertainment and brand print, broadcast and online publications, influential blogs, sites and bookers
  • Ability to manage a large number of different projects simultaneously while adhering to strict deadlines & maintaining a high standard of attention to detail
  • A reliable team-player and leader who has passion and enthusiasm for their work and the desire to see others succeed
  • Ability to remain calm and work efficiently in a fast-paced, high pressure environment.
  • Professional, proactive and flexible approach to work - which may include out of office working hours including weekends
  • Experience in successfully controlling budgets.
  • Experience mentoring junior level staff while building morale within the team
  • Team player who works collaboratively among the group and with internal executives and outside constituents
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines across multiple projects
  • Strong organizational skills with proven timely deliverables
  • Proven writing skills as well as excellent verbal and interpersonal skills; good judgment and instincts with problem-solving.
  • Strong knowledge of the PR field including experience in media relations, press campaign development, and execution of creative and strategic communication plans.
  • Agency and Brand experience is a plus

 

Details:

  • The annual salary for this full-time role is $95,000-$105,000. This represents the salary range that Allied Global Marketing, in good faith, might be willing to pay for this job at the time of this posting. Actual base salary depends on several factors, including market dynamics, location and region, experience, specialized skills/training (education), and level of responsibility. Allied Global Marketing expects to hire for this position near the middle of the range. Allied Global Marketing would consider paying a salary or rate near the higher end of the range only in truly exceptional circumstances, where an external candidate has experience, credentials, or expertise that far exceed those required or expected for the position.
  • This position will be eligible to participate in the standard benefits offered to full-time employees of Allied Global Marketing (medical, dental, vision, short-term and long-term disability and life insurance as well as 401k and Flexible PTO). In addition, we offer 10 company paid holidays.
