Summary: Retain and grow business by servicing and managing client and prospective client relationships through collaboration with team members to deliver exceptional customer service, achieve client satisfaction, and drive new business opportunities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Manage and retain existing book of business and pursue new opportunities including a specific business plan for growth through networking, referrals, and cross-selling.

2. Establish, cultivate and manage customer relations with client and prospective decision-makers; as well as professional relationships with carrier partners, and internal resources throughout the organization.

3. Plan and direct renewal process for health and life coverages. Recommend the most appropriate insurance solutions, alternative strategies, plan modeling and cost reduction opportunities.

4. Ensure renewal, sales, and insurance operations compliance requirements are documented into the agency management system.

5. Establish, cultivate, and manage customer relations with all levels of client’s decision-makers as well as the day-to-day technical client representatives.

6. Routinely visit and educate clients on benefits legislation, regulatory requirements, compliance, and new product information.

7. Identify, develop, and oversee customer needs and service plans for each client to ensuring exceptional customer service and client satisfaction.

8. Manage resolution of client issues as well as escalated employee enrollment and claims issues.

9. Prepare and execute stewardship reports and new business strategies, including proposals and presentations while ensuring agreement with customer’s requests/requirements.

10. Support sales team with new business meetings and implementation of new clients.

11. Promote a commitment to achieve or exceed internal and external performance standards and department/agency goals.

12. Support training initiatives for new service and sales teammates.

13. Participate in internal and external meetings.

14. Promote teamwork within department and profit center through support, knowledge sharing and a positive attitude.

15. Participate in training opportunities to remain current on industry information, new product development, legislation, coverages, technology, and continuing education required for valid licensing.

16. Follow agency guidelines, policies, and procedures.

17. All other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience: Required:

· Valid Health, Accident and Life Insurance Producer license in good standing.

· Proficient knowledge of insurance coverages, contracts, and state regulations where business is conducted.

· Proficient knowledge in Microsoft Windows environment, including but not limited to Word, Excel, Power Point, and Publisher.

· Proficient knowledge in use of office equipment (including but not limited to copy machines, printers, faxes, binding machine, etc.)

· 7+ years progressive experience in employee benefits account management or sales.

Preferred:

· College Degree in a business-related field or equivalent work experience.

· Professional Designation specific to area of specialty

This position requires routine or periodic travel which may require the teammate to drive their own vehicle or a rental vehicle. Acceptable results of a Motor Vehicle Record report at the time of hire and periodically thereafter, and maintenance of minimum acceptable insurance coverages are requirements of this position.

Physical Requirements Necessary on a Regular Basis:

· Ability to independently visit clients, prospects, and make related calls to others approximately 40%-50% of time.

· Ability to travel for industry and carrier events approximately 10-15% of time.

· Ability to perform 30% sedentary work, exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, and exert negligible force frequently; may be asked to exert up to 20 pounds of force periodically, as needed.

· Vision sufficient for use of a computer monitor.

· Manual dexterity, arm, and upper body range of motion sufficient for use of a keyboard, mouse and telephone on a constant basis, 7-8 hour per day.

· Speech and hearing sufficient for phone and in-person communication.

· Physical efforts include repetitive small motor activity, grasping, verbally communicating detailed and important information to others quickly and accurately, stooping, reaching, standing, lifting light objects less than 10 pounds frequently, and climbing occasionally.

Pay Range

100,000 - 110,000 Annual

The pay range provided above is made in good faith and based on our lowest and highest annual salary or hourly rate paid for the role and takes into account years of experience required, geography, and/or budget for the role.
