Job Description

Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced Software Engineer with approximately 6 years of hands-on experience in Java-based software development. The ideal candidate will be strong in designing, developing, and deploying scalable backend applications. Experience with BDD test automation using Selenium is mandatory. Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies is essential.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain high-quality backend services and applications using Java.
• Implement robust, maintainable, and scalable code following clean coding standards and design patterns.
• Collaborate with product owners, architects, DevOps, and QA engineers to deliver high-value features.
• Participate in requirement analysis, story grooming, and sprint planning sessions.
• Create and maintain RESTful APIs, microservices, or server-side components.
• Write high-quality unit tests using JUnit/TestNG to ensure good coverage.
• Contribute to test automation using BDD frameworks (Cucumber) and Selenium WebDriver (must).
• Perform code reviews and ensure adherence to engineering best practices.
• Troubleshoot production issues as needed.
• Work efficiently in an Agile development environment.

Required Qualifications

• 6+ years of hands-on experience in Java software development.
• Strong understanding of Core Java, OOP concepts, collections, streams, and exception handling.
• Experience with Spring/Spring Boot frameworks.
• Experience in building and consuming REST APIs.
• Strong knowledge of SQL or NoSQL databases.
• Experience using Git for version control.
• Understanding of CI/CD pipelines such as Jenkins, Azure DevOps, or GitHub Actions.
• Experience working within Agile/Scrum teams.
• Experience writing BDD-style test cases using Selenium.
• Basic knowledge of UI automation with Selenium WebDriver

Nice-to-Have Skills

• Playwright or Selenide experience.
• Contract testing, mocking, performance testing.
• Docker or cloud exposure.
• Experience with Docker or Kubernetes.
• Familiarity with design patterns and domain-driven design (DDD).
