Job Summary:

To review and coordinate purchasing requests for Adult Perioperative Services in accordance with applicable policies and procedures. To implement cost containment measures and ensure prompt delivery of goods / services. Manages Capital purchase process, critical patient special order requests. Vendor Liaison for procurement, business reviews, trial management, and vendor education. Supervises / Implements Adult Perioperative Services special projects.

Education & Experience

Bachelor's degree in Business or related field with two (2) years related experience or equivalent combination of education/experience.

Certifications, Licenses or Registration Required: N/A

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Analytical, Knowledge of purchasing policies and procedures, Verbal and written communication skills, Presentation Skills, Interpersonal skills, Mastery skill level of Excel, Word, Power point.

Responsibilities

  • Requests/ process /approves purchasing for goods, services, in compliance with UMMC procedures, state procurement code and user requirements.
  • Prepares bid proposals, supporting spreadsheets, comparisons, recommendations, and justifications, issues purchase orders.
  • Interacts with vendors and department regarding procurement order status, problem resolution
  • Prepares vendor business reviews: manages implementation process
  • Manages capital request process: system processing, receiving, and implementation
  • Manages equipment / supply trials
  • Provide Vendor Education re: Conducting Business at UMMC
  • Monitors Vendor adherence to UMMC Policy / Procedures
  • Manages special Adult Perioperative Services special projects:  Construction, cost containment, IT, Education
  • Manages critical patient specific supply/equipment procurement process.
