The Vaccine Key Account Lead (VKAL) plays a crucial role in engaging C/D level clinical and non-clinical stakeholders within large health systems to understand their unique needs and priorities, delivering a customized value proposition. As a VKAL, you will leverage your strong customer relationship and engagement skills, knowledge of healthcare contracting, and account management expertise to drive successful outcomes. Your role will involve consultative selling, product knowledge, contract management, and ensuring sales and ethical compliance. You will also need to be adept at digital literacy, data analytics, and omnichannel engagement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage with C/D level stakeholders within large health systems to understand their unique needs and priorities.
  • Deliver a customized value proposition that aligns with customer needs and GSK's vaccines portfolio.
  • Develop and execute strategic account plans to drive vaccines sales and market penetration within designated territories.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with healthcare professionals, healthcare delivery networks, and other key stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, including marketing, R&D, and business development, to align on strategies and ensure seamless execution.
  • Conduct thorough market analysis to identify opportunities and threats and adjust strategies accordingly.
  • Provide expert knowledge on GSK's vaccines portfolio, competitive products, and industry trends to inform and influence stakeholders.
  • Present and communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels, including live and remote presentations.
  • Negotiate and manage contracts with healthcare systems to secure favorable terms and conditions for GSK's vaccines.
  • Monitor and report on sales performance metrics, providing insights and recommendations for continuous improvement.
  • Travel up to 40% to meet with key accounts and attend relevant industry events.

Why You?

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree.
  • Previous vaccines sales experience.
  • Must possess a combined minimum of 5 years of the following: Pharmaceutical Sales, Pharmaceutical Marketing, Payer and/or Business Development Experience.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Ability to travel up to 40% based on specific geography size.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in business, public health, hospital administration, or a similar field.
  • Previous vaccines sales experience
  • Deep knowledge of contracting in the healthcare industry.
  • Expertise in the vaccines marketplace, GSK and competitive portfolios, and customers.
  • Deep knowledge of the Health Systems business model, organizational structure, key stakeholder roles, and decision-making processes (P&T, formulary, etc.).
  • Experience calling on C/D level within large, complex healthcare delivery networks (IDNs and similarly structured systems).
  • Experience with lateral leadership in a highly matrixed organization.
  • Solid strategic aptitude and advanced business acumen.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and execute local-level business and strategic account plans.
  • Strong communication, presentation (live and remote), and influencing skills.
  • Demonstrated skills in digital literacy, data analytics, and omnichannel engagement.
  • Emotional resilience and a growth mindset.
