Job Description:

Pharmacy Technician I

Under supervision of a Pharmacist and a Certified Pharmacy Technician, trains to fill unit dose orders and maintain records of patient's use as well as more complex duties throughout the training process with goal of becoming a Certified Pharmacy Technician.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Demonstrates the ability to use a personal computer and various software programs applicable to the position 
  • Demonstrates the ability to operate applicable office equipment
  • Exhibits the ability to deal effectively interdepartmentally & with the public
  • Exhibits the ability to maintain confidentiality, think and act independently with minimal supervision
  • Maintains regular, consistent and punctual attendance at the assigned job location

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES/DEGREES

  • Valid Oregon Pharmacy Technician License
  • American Heart Association Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Completion of medical terminology course or experience in related medical position preferred

EXPERIENCE

  • One year retail or hospital Pharmacy Technician experience preferred
