The Sr. Engineer is responsible to contribute to the product team through product design, testing, data analysis, and project management.  The Sr. Engineer will also support the manufacturing of the product representing the design team through initiating and executing design changes.  All of these tasks also require strong communication skills and the ability to clearly present information to engineering teammates, engineering managers, and product management.  The Sr. Engineer is responsible to develop and maintain skill sets and work practices to align with the expectations and needs of the organization.  

Principal Duties (as related to functional responsibilities):

  • Maintains understanding of theories, concepts, technical principles and processes related to mechanical aspects of water-cooled chillers

  • Has proficiency in mechanical design and be able to conceptualize and implement design ideas into the product

  • Work closely with the design and drafting group in generating layout concepts and system configurations

  • Contributes to the on-time completion of programs and regularly reports on the status of projects

  • Generates technical documentation and writes technical documents for use within the company

  • Prepare and help execute test programs to verify performance and reliability of mechanical sub-components and systems

  • Analyzes, designs, modifies and/or troubleshoots mechanical sub-components and sub-systems based on test data

  • Applies mechanical codes such as UL, CE, PED and ASME

  • Possesses knowledge of manufacturing processes and applies the philosophy of designing to standard manufacturing process

  • Occasional domestic and international travel (less than 10%)

  • Strives for continuous improvement and teamwork in a global product development environment

Requirements:  

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

  • BS in Engineering or related science

  • Minimum 4 years experience in a related field

  • Strong understanding of fluid and thermal principles

  • Strong product development background in a manufacturing environment would be a plus

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat
