JOB SUMMARY:

Maintains cleanliness of office areas, bathrooms at both the East and West buildings. Sweeping and mopping of floors with special cleaning solutions and disinfectants to prevent the spread of germs.  Scours and polishes sinks, mirrors and similar equipment. Uses damp disinfectant treated brushes, sponges, and cloths, to wash urinals, bowls, and similar equipment to prevent the spreading of germs and/or diseases.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Gathers and disposes of trash. Periodically washes wastebaskets and relines with plastic bags.
• Periodically polishes floors using buffing and wax polishing machines. Strips and refinishes floors as required. Vacuums carpet and floors when required
•  Maintains inventory of hygiene supplies. Papers, cleaning agents, mops, sponges, brushes, and other items.
• Cleans bathrooms using special cleaning agents and disinfectants.  As applicable, learns and maintains Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) of chemical used so person can handle and use products in accordance with directions.
• Additional responsibilities as assigned by Supervisor.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS:

• Previous custodial experience, (2) years minimum.
• Capable of operating or being trained to operate forklift as required moving supplies.
• Must be able to read and write in English.
• Minor bathroom maintenance / repairs a plus.
• Must possess the mental capacity to comprehend information provided daily and make own decisions.

EDUCATION / TRAINING:

• High School Diploma or equivalency

Salary / Hourly Rate: $20.00 per hour
