A Data Processor must be able to work independently to execute the assigned tasks related to Drone/ Mobile Laser Scanner (MLS) data processing, feature extraction, CAD or related GIS work. Set up and operate a variety of data processing systems.  Takes lead role in individual projects of varying complexities.  Undertaking QC and processing of acquired survey data sets.  Generation of client specified deliverables and reports.

You will ensure that all work is undertaken to the highest quality and professionalism, in accordance with the company Integrated Management System and project specific documentation.

Maintain a detailed and accurate processing log, Supervise and train other staff.  Evaluate the quality and presentation of data received from the field, ensuring that contract specifications have been met.

You will setup and operate survey processing software and monitor the data quality to ensure specification is achieved, bringing non-conformances to the attention of the Supervisor

Project Specific tasks:

  • Execute LiDAR point clouds and create digital terrain model.
  • Perform classification, feature extraction and mapping from processed LIDAR data.
  • Expertise in QA/QC and ensure proper data management within timelines.
  • Must have the desire to learn new technologies, software, hardware, methodologies and assist the LIDAR team to operate with maximum efficiency.
  • Detailed oriented with the focus on maximizing production while maintaining quality.
  • LiDAR Data Processing and Feature Extraction
  • 3D Modelling
  • Experience in Photogrammetric Quality control methodology and processes will be an added advantage
  • Experience in Quality control methodology of 3D annotation
  • Software Experience: Microstation, Terrascan, Terra solid, Autodesk Civil 3D and Revit, ArcGIS. Python and Java Scripting experience shall be preferred.

Job Requirements

  • At least Bachelor Degree in GIS/ Geo-Informatics/ Geodesy / Surveying and Remote Sensing. Master Degree shall be preferred.
  • More than 5 years of experience in Digital Photogrammetric, Lidar data processing and 3D Feature Extraction
  • 2 years of managing and successfully implementing GIS projects.
  • Knowledge and experience of working in BIM shall be preferred.

Entitled to refuse any to undertake any activity considered unsafe. Responsible for filling up of hazard observation card, wherever hazard has been noticed at site. Responsible for safe housekeeping of his work place. To stop any operation that is deemed unsafe To be able to operate fire extinguisher in case of fire To report an incident as soon as possible to immediate supervisor and HSE manager To complete HSE trainings as instructed to do so
