POSITION: Painter

REPORTS TO: Maintenance Manager

FLSA STATUS: Hourly/Non-Exempt

Summary

ASM Global, the leader in privately managed public assembly facilities, has an excellent and immediate opening for a Painter for ASM Global/Salt Palace Convention. Under the guidance of the Maintenance Manager, the Painter is responsible for visual aesthetic of the venue through painting, papering, and decorating.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Maintains and prepares paint and papering equipment as needed.
  • Patch and prep walls and other surfaces for paint
  • Removes all graffiti and debris from venue exterior.
  • Cleans and maintains equipment and ensures proper storage when not in use.
  • Assists in the removal of snow and ice during winter months for both employee and attendee safety.
  • Adheres to OSHA, NFPA and other applicable safety codes to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Works well in a team environment to ensure the success of the department and venue.
  • Perform other duties or special projects as needed.

Experience & Knowledge

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Three years’ experience in commercial painting and wall covering preferred.
  • General knowledge of materials, tools, and equipment necessary to paint, hang drywall, and wall coverings.
  • Ability to demonstrate knowledge of the methods and skill in the use of equipment, materials, and tools appropriate for groundskeeping and heavy equipment operation (i.e., hand tools, mowers, trimmers, utility vehicles, forklifts, sweepers, plows, front-end loaders, power washers, etc.)
  • Good customer service skills, including telephone etiquette, email, and text communications.
  • Dependable and team-oriented
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to interact with people on all levels such as management, co-workers, clients, exhibitors, and attendees.

Certifications/Licenses/Registrations

  • Must be in possession of and maintain a valid Class D Utah Driver License
  • Must complete annual Forklift Training and any other required training within 60 days of employment.

Job Type: Full-time, 40 hours per week, On-Site

Wage: $15 - 18/hour

Schedule: Monday-Friday, Flexible Start/End Times, Occasional Weekend Availability Required, On-Call
