The Equipment Engineer is responsible for the installation, functionality, and maintenance of equipment toolsets. This includes all the hardware and software in the toolset, as well as the interface to any other systems that the tool must connect to for its accurate operation. As an Equipment Engineer, you will maintain the tool performance as measured by availability to production and primary quality metrics and use data analysis to drive the priority equipment engineering within the area.

We are currently seeking senior-level expertise in Chemical Mechanical Planarization (CMP)

Daily responsibilities

  • Conduct all work in accordance with safety policies and laws
  • Follow up and look for related issues immediately and work towards resolution with partners
  • Perform and facilitate audits and submit catches on safety issues to proactively reduce incidents of personal injuries, safety hazards, or environmental impact
  • Maintain tools according to documentation and guidelines
  • Partner with suppliers, process owners, and Shift Engineers/Technicians to complete daily activities
  • Analyze data to make critical decisions and drive cost-reduction activities
  • Provide support for advanced problems and address root causes
  • Partner with HVM sites to identify gaps and opportunities for workstation efficiencies, such as reviewing SPC, ETI, and Y3 to identify PM frequency optimization opportunities
  • Handle inventory lists and levels to ensure we have the parts for planned and unplanned maintenance events
  • Partner with equipment owners to develop, prioritize, and run projects

Skills sought for this role

  • Advanced PC skills including familiarity with the MS Office suite
  • Can efficiently coordinate teams and projects
  • Advanced understanding of the Fab process areas including area processing equipment
  • Know SPC principles such as improving CPK, reducing defectivity baselines, and how the equipment affects SPC performance
  • Shown time management, organization, and prioritization skills
  • Follows procedures and works with minimal direction
  • Have a strong understanding and hands-on equipment experience, which may include LAM/Novellus, AMAT, TEL, and ASML
  • Skills to help encourage good partnerships among colleagues and vendor counterparts

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, related field, or equivalent military experience
  • 5+ years of experience working with Chemical and Physical Chemical Mechanical Planarization (CMP), Equipment manufacturing experience
  • Data Science understanding
