We seek an experienced Incident Commander Supervisor with high integrity and professionalism who can join our team in New York. You will be working on uniquely assigned projects under the guidance of the Program Manager. In your day to day role as an Incident Commander Supervisor, you will be acting as a liaison between Surefox and its clients while providing professional security guarding services with the goal of protecting client personnel and property as well as deterrence and emergency response. You will perform all duties in accordance with Surefox and client policies and procedures, and all state & federal regulations.

Other responsibilities include responding to emergency events, medical & non-medical issues, staffing deficiencies, and handling client requests in a timely manner. Under certain circumstances, an Incident Commander Supervisor will be expected to initiate preliminary investigations by writing incident reports on all internal client and company issues. We are looking for someone who has exceptional observational skills and pays close attention to detail as well as being highly dependable. Compensation for this position is :$30.00 per hour

What You Will Do: 

  • Develop relationships with clients, facilitate collaboration, and have the ability to influence informally across different departments within the team

  • Act as an Incident Commander for emergencies and response

  • Provide discreet lobby security during business operations

  • Incident commanders will be responsible for, but not limited to, data entry, providing assistance to employees, general information and direction assists, parcel delivery, lost and found, guest check in and badging requests for temporary employees, vendors, and contractors.

  • Track and report on program performance assurance and compliance requirements within the provided guidelines

  • Perform routine security patrols of designated areas on foot, while monitoring access

  • Watch for unusual activity and respond immediately and safely to emergency situations on-site

  • Contact the police or fire department if and when there is an emergency

  • Permit authorized persons to enter property and monitor entrances and exits

  • Observe departing personnel to protect against theft of company property

  • Prepare reports on accidents, incidents and suspicious activities

  • Provide assistance to employees and create a safe and friendly environment for visitors and clients in a professional manner

  • Attend project meetings upon request to assess the security implications of proposed changes

  • Monitor camera systems and conduct reviews as requested

  • Operate access control and badging systems

  • Work independently and adapt to various work-paces while always maintaining a high-level of attentiveness and energy

  • Able to lift and move 25 lbs objects as needed

  • Conduct briefing and debriefing for any upcoming shifts and off going shifts during your scheduled shift as required

  • Ensure all post equipment is signed out to the correct officers prior to them going to post, and that all equipment is signed back in before the departure of each officer 

  • Conduct inspections of the equipment upon check out and check in  

  • Ensure that officers have the necessary information available to them to be able to perform their essential duties/role 

  • Manage any call-ins, late arrivals, no shows, or other attendance issues that need to be filled out on the Discrepancy Sheet for management visibility 

  • Execute “Time Off Request” (TOR) process regarding the amount of notice required for each policy, and submitting a TOR form for the requesting officer 

  • Instruct and advise team members what additional steps may be required from them, such as submitting documentation for requesting leave on Workday, and notify them if their request has been approved or denied once scheduling has made the decision  

  • Receive and escalate cross-departmental matters such as but not limited to:  

  • ○ Uniform Deficiencies  

    ○ Harassment / Bullying  

    ○ Counselings  

    ○ Payroll  

    ○ Scheduling  

    ○ Military Leave / Orders  

    ○ Scheduling Conflicts  

Requirements: 

  • Must be eligible for employment within the United States 

  • Must be a minimum of 18 years old per state licensing guidelines 

  • Must be able to pass an extensive background check and drug screening (Surefox will consider for employment qualified applicants with criminal histories in a manner consistent with all requirements of State and local laws, regulations or codes) 

  • Must live within driving distance or be willing to relocate 

  • Must have a current NY Security Guard License

  • Must have a high school diploma or GED 

  • Demonstrated competence in reacting to and handling emergencies 

  • Ability to effectively communicate with people at all levels and from various backgrounds 

  • Good judgment with the ability to make timely and sound decisions 

  • Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions 

  • Ability to work independently and as a team member 

  • All applicants must be able to pass the Surefox Physical Agility Test (SPAT), with or without reasonable accommodation, prior to the scheduled start date 

o Please be aware that passing the physical agility test is a requirement for this position 

o The SPAT is a timed sequence of multiple physical events requiring you to progress along a predetermined path from event to event in a continuous manner until complete 

Skills desired: 

  • Security or law enforcement related experience preferred 

  • Military background is a plus 

  • Report writing experience preferred 

  • CPR, AED, and First Aid Training is preferred 

  • Associates Degree or equivalent
