Role Definition
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Operational Logistics Manager to oversee and optimize the operations of our distribution center. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in leading teams, managing logistics operations, and driving continuous improvement.
What You Will Do:
- Leadership and Team Management: Lead and manage a team of supervisors and union employees to ensure efficient operations.
Foster a positive and productive work environment, promoting teamwork and employee engagement. Provide guidance, coaching, and performance feedback to team members. - Logistics Operations: Oversee and optimize all aspects of distribution center operations, including receiving, shipping, and inventory management.
Develop and implement strategies to improve operational efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance customer satisfaction.
Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure and track operational performance.
Identify and implement process improvements to streamline workflows and eliminate waste. - Inventory Management: Maintain accurate inventory records and control systems to ensure optimal stock levels.
Implement strategies to minimize inventory discrepancies and losses.
Collaborate with purchasing and planning teams to optimize inventory levels and reduce carrying costs. - Safety and Compliance: Ensure adherence to all safety regulations, policies, and procedures.
Conduct regular safety inspections and training programs.
Promote a culture of safety and accident prevention. - Problem-Solving and Decision-Making: Analyze operational issues and develop effective solutions. Make timely decisions to address challenges and opportunities. Identify and mitigate potential risks.
Degree Requirement
University degree (bachelor’s degree in administration or industrial, mechanical or other related engineering)

Logistics Management:
- Knowledge of warehouse layout, storage methods, and inventory control techniques.
- Skill in managing warehouse operations, including receiving, storing, picking, packing, and shipping.
- Skill in developing and implementing supply chain plans that align with business objectives.
- Ability to coordinate with different departments
- Knowledge of data analysis techniques to measure logistics performance and identify areas for improvement.
- Ability to use logistics software and tools to track key performance indicators (KPIs) and make data-driven decisions.
Supply Chain Management –
- Ability to accurately forecast future demand by analyzing historical data, market trends, and customer behavior.
- Ability to balance supply and demand, minimize costs, and avoid stockouts or excess inventory.
- Ability to optimize production schedules, allocate resources effectively, and minimize lead times.
- Understanding of supply chain network design principles and the ability to optimize the network to reduce costs and improve efficiency.
- Developing contingency plans and implementing risk mitigation strategies
Lean Manufacturing:
- Ability to identify and eliminate waste in production processes through value stream mapping
- Skill in organizing the workplace to improve efficiency, safety, and quality.
- Understanding of JIT principles and the ability to implement them to minimize inventory levels and reduce lead times.
- A mindset of continuous improvement and a commitment to identifying and implementing process improvements.
Inventory Management – MFG
- Skill in balancing supply and demand, minimizing costs, and avoiding stockouts or excess inventory.
- Ability to maintain accurate inventory records through regular cycle counts and physical inventories
- Ability to accurately forecast future demand to optimize inventory levels.
Effective Communications:
- Skill in expressing ideas clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to deliver presentations and communicate information effectively to diverse audiences.
- Strong interpersonal skills to build and maintain positive relationships with colleagues, customers, and suppliers.
- Ability to resolve conflicts effectively through open communication, empathy, and problem-solving.
