As a Senior Quality Engineer, you will gain a deep understanding of various aspects of complex technologies such as Java tuning on different JVMs, Apache HTTP Server performance analysis, load balancing and high availability, intricate deployments, centralized management, Platform as a Service (PaaS), various operating systems or Docker containers.

As a Senior Quality Engineer, you will be designing complex test scenarios and developing automated tests and testing frameworks. You will solve problems, you will do deep root cause analysis and provide fixes for found problems. We will need you to be able to think creatively and adapt to change, as well as be willing to learn new things.

What you will do

  • Act as an internal advocate for our customers
  • Design and development of new tests and tests automation on various environments such as different OS
  • Develop new test applications for Red Hat JBoss Web Server, JBoss Core Services and the corresponding Ansible Playbook
  • Analyze and prioritize the quality risks posed by JBoss products and determine the tests required to mitigate these risks
  • Document new bugs and advocate their resolution and fix with developers
  • Communicate the impact of these bugs to customers with developers and support
  • Mentor less experienced team members and help plan and test more complex scenarios and/or customer issues

What you will bring

  • 5 years of experience in Quality Engineering or Software Engineering
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science or a related engineering field, or relevant professional experience
  • Solid written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Ability to design and code complex test cases and code (or contribute code to) frameworks which simplify test development and automation solutions
  • Ability to assist in/perform root cause analysis of issues (possibly spanning multiple components/subsystems) and develop reproducers; ability to work independently/with little supervision
  • Proficiency in Java/Groovy, good knowledge of Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), UNIX-like operating systems and Apache HTTP Server
  • Knowledge of the following is considered an advantage: Tomcat, Docker, Amazon EC2, Bash, RPMs
