Responsibilities

The Vice President, Capital Markets will be responsible for the following:

  • Leading the financing strategy for potential new investment opportunities and current portfolio companies

  • Contributing to the firm’s growth by strengthening relationships with capital sources (direct lenders, investment banks, institutional debt investors) and to the firm’s debt strategy Build and maintain relationships with debt investors, presenting investment opportunities and providing ongoing updates on portfolio performance

  • Managing financing transactions that will range from revolver, Term Loan A, Term Loan B, syndicated financings, securitizations, and other financing structures as needed for support

  • Coordinate due diligence processes with investors and legal teams, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards

  • Analyze market trends and capital markets activities to optimize debt financing and hedging structures

  • Collaborate with internal teams, including investment professionals and senior management, to align capital markets strategies that align with the firm's investment objectives

  • Structuring and negotiating loan terms (term sheets, financing grids, commitment papers, and credit agreements) and working closely with legal teams and third-party advisors to close transactions

  • Maintaining a database of capital structures and lending relationships for existing Providence portfolio companies

  • Driving efficiency and process improvement for ongoing loan servicing matters

  • Collaborating and building strong relationships with other teams and stakeholders

Qualifications

The successful candidate will have an exceptional track record and reputation. Given the significant responsibilities of this position, the top candidate will be a mature, experienced individual. In addition, the successful candidate should have:

  • Minimum five years experience in a financing role at an institutional investment bank or private equity firm with capital markets financing experience

  • Ability to analyze and understand business financing needs for potential and current investments

  • Experience with debt instruments including but not limited to loans, bonds, bank debt, and derivatives

  • Ability to build and maintain key strategic relationships at top direct lenders and institutional banks

  • High degree of relationship management skills and ability to effectively interact with multiple teams across the firm

  • Excellent written, and verbal communication and organization skills, including sharing ideas and information across diverse audiences and identities to drive business.

  • Ability to work autonomously and exhibit sound judgment and problem-solving skills

  • High energy and resiliency with the ability to manage multiple priorities and make ongoing decisions

  • A flexible, creative approach to business with an understanding of risk assessment

  • A strong sense of urgency and commitment

  • Able to work well in a team-oriented environment, and show an ability and willingness to multitask and be “hands-on”

  • Demonstrate the highest levels of ethics, values, and integrity
