Production Designer (Alajuela, Costa Rica)

What will you be doing?

• Preparing and refining layouts for print and digital publication, ensuring accuracy and alignment with output specifications

• Executing technical production of static and dynamic assets, including graphics, motion graphics and video

• Managing file preparation, version control, asset organisation and release of final files to internal platforms and external vendors

• Collaborating with Creative Lead, Graphic Designers, copywriters and account managers to ensure consistency and quality

• Supporting review cycles within a regulated medical device environment and meeting deadlines

What will you need to be successful?

• Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Advertising, or equivalent practical experience

• Proven experience developing visual layouts from initial concept through refinement, revisions, and final production

• Strong technical knowledge of both print and digital production standards

• Demonstrated advanced technical proficiency in design and production tools, with the ability to independently produce technically accurate, production ready assets. Proficiency includes Adobe InDesign, Adobe Premiere Pro and/or After Effects, Photoshop, Illustrator, Adobe Express, Adobe Acrobat, and working familiarity with the full Microsoft Office Suite.

• Advanced proficiency in English (written, spoken, and reading) is required to effectively operate in a global, cross‑functional environment

• High attention to detail with excellent organizational skills and strong version control practices

• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast paced, high volume environment

• Strong collaboration, communication, and stakeholder partnership skills (written and verbal)

• Ability to consistently apply Smith+Nephew brand guidelines and templates while maintaining design integrity

• Comfort working in a corporate, regulated medical device environment with multiple review and approval cycles

• Experience in an agency or in house agency model, global organizations, or medical device / marketing communications environments is a plus, along with a passion for execution excellence in a support focused production role
