Position Summary

Responsible for providing creative concepting, design thinking, and design execution in support of brand campaigns marketing materials, adhering to standards and guidelines. Design needs for tactics that will include, but not limited to, brochures, print, radio, outdoor, emails, direct mail, website, video and social media. Will work to ensure that designs support brand strategies for WashU Medicine programs and annual business objectives. Oversee production of printed materials.

Job Description

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

Graphic Design

  • Create visual concepts to communicate ideas that are aligned with brand guidelines and messaging.
  • Develop the overall layout and production design for tactics including, but not limited to, advertisements, brochures, sell sheets, signage, direct mail, video, social media and digital elements.
  • Coordinate with brand leaders and Creative Director, design to ensure that all marketing and communication efforts are collectively in support of programs’ brand strategy and program objectives.
  • Work with external agencies and freelancers to manage edits and process the job with an assigned print house, when applicable.
  • Lead on smaller tactical projects.

Print Production

  • Oversee a print project from the initial phase of project specifications to the final stages of production and distribution.
  • Coordinate projects with Brand Managers to understand the scope of the project, formulate print estimates (including bidding), job scheduling, and the reviewing of proofs through final delivery.

Creative Concepting

  • Conceptualize and develop creative solutions that effectively communicate the strategic intent of an assignment and solves the client’s business and marketing challenges.
  • Interact with members of the creative team, especially copywriters and creative directors, to develop creative concepts and executions of assigned project(s) and present them to internal team members.
  • Possess solid understanding of the market dynamics and challenges of the medical and higher education categories.
  • Lead on smaller tactical projects.

Salary Range

$58,400.00 - $99,700.00 / Annually

The salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University. Individual rates within the range will be determined by factors including one's qualifications and performance, equity with others in the department, market rates for positions within the same grade and department budget.
