Core Competencies:

The Manager – Enterprise Security brings a seasoned, pragmatic technical and security skillset to lead the HW Security team.  This leader will be responsible for designing, implementing, optimizing and supporting a wide range of security technologies and driving capability coverage to protect the firm and our people.  

Core Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical direction and subject matter expertise over a collaborative team of engineers, analysts, vendors and third-party providers (where appropriate) to manage and expand the Harris Williams security program.   

  • Protect the firm, our people and our data through the design, implementation and ongoing operation of capabilities and processes to reduce cyber and physical risk.

  • Partner and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment, prioritization and progress in the planning and delivery of tactical efforts and strategic projects.  Perform enhancement work and support requests according to established service levels, budgets, and compliance standards.

  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, prioritization, innovation, and proactive problem-solving within the Security team.

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive cyber and physical strategy and roadmap focused on eliminating technology and process debt, ensuring availability, incident readiness and continued functionality enhancements.

  • Redefine, implement and extend IT operational standards in line with ITIL best practices.  Ensure that all relevant platforms and processes are supported with operational playbooks, checklists and schedules that are well managed and measurable.

  • Define key metrics regarding security risks, capability coverage, performance and availability and prepare/deliver as part of broader KPI set reported on regular schedule.

  • Manage portfolio of security technologies including their engineering, operations and ongoing usage.  Ensure security products are identified, properly utilized and have corresponding backlogs for new features and incremental improvements.  

  • Lead the continued evolution and maturity of HW’s cyber readiness posture.  Ensure that appropriate and effective technical and procedural measures are in place to enable recovery and continuity from potential security incidents.  Lead response scenario tests and disaster recovery exercises. 

  • Lead the HW Physical Security and Life Safety program, identifying most relevant risks to the firm and clarifying the risk management approach.  Select, onboard and operationalize an appropriate physical security partner to perform on site security, process execution and situation user support and response.

  • Represent Security interests in key internal initiatives such as the HW Architecture Review Committee and as a trusted advisor in owned or cross-team projects, provide security requirements and guidance.   

  • Ensure technology risk-related requirements and processes are executed timely and effectively.  Support risk and security assessments as required by parent company and / or external assessors. 

  • Monitor Harris Williams environment for security concerns/findings and raise concerns with the Security Team (and other partner teams) as needed.

  • Ensure team members have individual development plans, clear definitions of ownership and priority and training where needed.

  • Participate in annual Technology planning cycle, develop and manage the Security Infrastructure budget with internal teams, vendors and stakeholders.  Manage prospective and incumbent vendor relationships and continually assess product roadmaps for ongoing fitness for purpose.

Job Specific Competencies, Education & Experience:

  • 10+ years of experience designing, implementing, troubleshooting and supporting enterprise security technologies

  • Experience directly leading / managing technical teams in large-scale corporate technology settings.

  • Passion for technology, innovation, and learning of new skills while ensuring an exceptional customer experience.

  • High degree of technical creativity and the ability to lead the continuous improvement of platform sustainability, functionality and performance.

  • Highly collaborative and able to partner productively and influence among staff, peers and stakeholders.

  • Proficiency in gathering stakeholder needs, using these to establish technical vision and ensure that Infrastructure projects are additive and impactful to the business. 

  • Proficiency in situational leadership and the ability to apply talent management techniques to optimize the team’s performance.

  • Proficiency in organizing, prioritizing and executing workload and communicating plans and progress.

  • Expert level of knowledge in securing Microsoft / Windows / Azure environments and M365 / Office applications.   

  • Expert level of knowledge in Azure tenant architecture, configuration, security, monitoring and support.

  • Expert level knowledge of virtual environments and their design, configuration, administration and security.

  • Advanced level of knowledge of applying risk-based security architecture and hardening concepts in a complex Microsoft-oriented environment.

Base Salary: $150,000 - $190,000

Salaries may vary within the range based on geographic location, market data and on individual skills, experience, and education.

Role is incentive eligible with the payment based upon company, business and/or individual performance.
