About You and This Role:

You will provide maintenance technical input and oversight for the critical rotating equipment (CRE) at the site. You will participate on the CRE maintenance team which supports reliability improvement across all Operations facilities.  The Critical Rotating Equipment Technologist overhauls, repairs, and performs advanced troubleshooting on industrial rotating equipment. You will work is performed on reciprocating compressors, various types of blowers, centrifugal pumps, centrifugal compressors, gearboxes, and other critical rotating mechanical equipment.  You will be required advanced skills and expertise in a range of processes, procedures, and systems, and/or specialized technical expertise within an analytical/scientific method or operational process to perform a broad range of complex work assignments.  You may act as a working team lead, providing subject matter guidance and coordinating work of others.

Responsibilities:

  • Serves as a subject matter expert for methods of equipment machinery disassembly, assembly, and repairs of equipment and focuses on Critical Equipment.
  • Support the daily, turnaround, MRO, and construction work activities.
  • Provides emergency troubleshooting to the Site and to the Region if requested
  • Ensures that CRE will have a Quality Plan for all work execution in the field and shop 
  • Ensure that the highest standards are achieved for any CRE repair.
  • Supports and audits for compliance regarding CRE for planned TA work across the site
  • Supports site and regional TA and shop audit activity
  • Ensure best practices are effectively applied globally in support of new capital projects
  • Participates in Critical Event Review Process for upcoming turnarounds.
  • Creates, reviews, and follows procedures
  • Completes preventative maintenance activities.
  • Initiates and documents QSSPs as needed.
  • Complies with Gulf Coast Reliability and Maintenance Quality (GCRMQ)
  • Participate in Root Cause Investigations (RCIs) as needed

Required Qualifications:

  • A minimum of a High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • A minimum of 5 years of Industry Experience is required.
  • Must be proficient with mechanical test and repair equipment.
  • Must be willing to work weekends, and holidays, as needed.
  • Must be willing to work overtime (extra hours beyond your regular scheduled) as needed.

  • A minimum requirement for this U.S. based position is the ability to work legally in the United States.  No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any type of U.S. permanent residency (green card) process.

Preferred Requirements

  • Associate’s degree in mechanical engineering, Mechanical Technology or related field is preferred
  • NCCER Certification or equivalent
  • 5 years of Maintenance and Operations experience
  • Strong leadership and communication skills - a self-starter who can lead an initiative independently.
  • Strong collaboration skills - ability to work with the plants to brainstorm and develop solutions.
  • Strong organizational skills - ability to prioritize and accomplish multiple tasks.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
