Summary of Position:

The EDI EDI Principal I, Product DevSecOps supports the design, development and deployment of B2B IT Services, applications, systems and processes through analysis of strategy and objectives of the organization, regulatory requirements, best in class practices, and economic factors, as well as thorough understanding of the business processes being supported by the IT Organization. Collaborate with multiple stakeholders, including Production Support, BAs, Architect, Project Managers, and Product Owners to deliver high quality solutions.

Also, Develop, build, configure, customize, integrate and unit test solutions based on the functional and technical specifications to meet quality and performance requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

• IT professional delivering technical expertise in support of IBM B2B Sterling Integrator application solution, business processes or customer facing IT Services
• Identifies and analyzes business and internal IT requirements and processes, to develop and implement a B2B integration solution between external EDI Trading Partners or Vendors and Alcon internal applications (e.g. SAP) to support on-going operations, projects, IT Services or business processes
• Drive activities with Third Party Software Vendors and/or Managed Service Vendors to ensure that the B2B application systems are in line with business needs
• Analyzes B2B application performance data and provides ad-hoc and periodic reporting to the relevant stakeholders
• Ensure effective planning, delivery and maintenance of B2B/EDI integration solutions to be used in support of Alcon IT strategy. This includes the following areas:

- Communication/Change Management

- Project Documentation

- Resource/Budget guidance

- Configuration/Setup

- Training

- Sustained maintenance and operations planning  

• Ensuring compliance to applicable standards (e.g. SOX, EDI as applicable, other regional and local as appropriate)
• Solid understanding of Sterling Integrator architecture and the capability to troubleshoot platform-level issues.
• Experience or understanding of cloud migration strategies (moving on‑premise B2B/EDI platforms to cloud‑based architectures)
• Familiarity in areas such as cloud-native integration patterns, containerization (Kubernetes, OpenShift, AKS, EKS), microservices, and managed cloud services would be considered an advantage.
• Exploring AI/ML-driven monitoring, anomaly detection, or automation tools to improve EDI transaction visibility, reduce failures, and enhance system performance would be a strong plus.

Key Requirements/Minimum Qualifications:

• Education:

         Min Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT Technology or

           related IT field

• Experience: 7+ years of applicable experience
  • Has 4-7 years of B2B/MFT/EDI expertise. Experience using IBM Sterling Integrator and integration knowledge with SAP is preferable.
  • Able to manage/coordinate projects from initiation through launch.   
  • Required experience with ANSI X12, EDIFACT, Tradacoms and relevant XML EDI Standards
  • Ability to interpret and debug Sterling Integrator for business processes, service configurations, and error logs.
  • Desired experience with communication protocols including AS2, SFTP and Connect Direct with interaction directly with the Trading Partner or Value Added Networks (VAN)

Language

The ability to fluently read, write, understand and communicate in English.
