The Manager, Strategy is a key part of the Manulife Bank Strategy, Governance and Controls team and will contribute to the successful delivery of the overall strategic mandate. This influential and high-profile role will support the development, monitoring, reporting and communication of the strategy. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with strong analytical skills, a skilled communicator with the ability to make complex concepts simple and engaging for various audiences and has the ability to collaborate across various departments to achieve organizational goals
Position Responsibilities:
Support integrated strategy and planning, ensuring alignment with the overall Canadian Segment strategy and assisting with organizing strategy offsites for senior leaders.
Collect, consolidate, and synthesize information on marketing campaigns, portfolio execution, financial results, and risks for distribution to various audiences.
Plan, develop, and deploy communications to support strategy execution, and develop creative internal communications strategies with consistent measurement.
Foster collaboration by working with stakeholders to mobilize teams and drive towards common goals, building strategic partnerships for consistent messaging.
Communicate strategic priorities effectively with Manulife’s leaders, making complex concepts simple and engaging, and identifying strategic communication opportunities.
Serve as a subject matter expert, addressing inquiries and preparing communications on behalf of the leadership team, and acting as a change agent to build awareness and vision.
Required Qualifications:
University degree in business or English, communications; or equivalent
5+ years of experience in corporate strategy / development, executive communications, or management consulting,
Experience in the development and execution of communication and marketing plans, including the creating of messaging and collateral for a variety of audiences.
Excellent writing, proofreading and content analysis skills.
Superior communication skills, both verbal and written, with varying audiences in a matrixed environment.
Exceptional presentation and written communication skills
Excellent knowledge with MS Office including Word, Excel and PowerPoint

Understanding of the financial services industry.
Effective conceptual, diagnostic, analytical and problem-solving skills.
Well-developed planning and project management skills.
Strong business, strategic, critical, and analytical thinking.
Extremely detail-oriented, self-starter, deadline-driven.

Salary range is expected to be between

The actual salary will vary depending on local market conditions, geography and relevant job-related factors such as knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience, and education/training.
