Job Title: Finance Manager: Operations

Purpose of the role:

The Financial Manager responsible for overseeing day-to-day financial operations, including but not limited to managing accounts payable and receivable, managing cashflow to meet all obligations, review management accounts and ensure compliance with laws and regulations.

Responsibilities:

Monthly Management Reports

  • Review month-end, quarter-end and year-end closing activities, including billing, journal entries, reconciliations, and accruals, to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
  • Monitor and analyze financial data, identifying trends, variances

Corporate Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and accounting principles, staying updated on changes, and implementing necessary adjustments.
  • Coordinate and liaise with external auditors during the annual audit process.
  • Ensure compliance with SOX, financial policies, procedures, and internal controls to safeguard assets and improve efficiency.
  • Review and monitor all PAYE settlement agreements for all entities
  • Review and prepare submission of P11D’s for all entities.
  • Ensure HMRC submissions are processed and paid before the deadline.
  • Effective correspondence with HMRC and follow up on outstanding items.

Payroll

  • Review payroll reports and obtain sign off for payrolls
  • Review original allocation breakdown and investigate abnormalities
  • Review calculations and posting of bonus accruals and annual leave provisions
  • Ensure payroll year end processes are complete timeously
  • Review Workday to Navision payroll reconciliation.

Cashflow

  • Ensure timeous supplier and intergroup payments
  • Ensure that expenses are appropriate on charged and fess collected timeously to ensure seamless positive cash flow on a monthly basis.
  • Raise weekly funding request to Treasury

Robust and critical systems and controls

  • Ensure that ERP and other systems operate effectively and efficiently for responsible companies.
  • Investigate and recommend solutions to improve operational efficiencies in the team. Ensure successful implementation following approval.
  • Ensure that all accounting is in line with the Group’s accounting polices and procedures.
  • Ensure that appropriate processes are in place in order to identify potential problems and escalate when required.

Other

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams /stakeholders such as the Procurement and Human Resources department.
  • Support the finance team in ad-hoc reporting, analysis, and special projects as assigned.
  • Day to day management of the finance team.
  • Co-ordinate functions in the team to ensure that all team members are working effectively and able to meet all deliverables on time.
  • Ensure best business practice is embedded across all gaming processes and functions.
  • Undertake bi-annual team appraisals and performance development reviews
  • Ensure team key deliverables are met on time and accurately.
  • Provide guidance, mentoring and support to all direct reports to ensure your team is working efficiently and coherently.
  • Bi-annual setting of team objectives and KPI review (at each appraisal).

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field. A Master's degree or professional certifications (e.g., CGMA, CPA, ACCA, CA etc) is preferred
  • Audit experience is highly favourable
  • Minimum of 5 years in similar role
  • In-depth knowledge of financial principles, regulations, and reporting standards (e.g., IFRS, GAAP)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and make sound recommendations
  • Proficient in financial software and ERP systems (e.g., NAV, Cognos) and advanced MS Excel skills
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a finance team
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, able to effectively convey complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders
  • Proactive mindset with a focus on continuous improvement and efficiency
  • High integrity and ethical standards, maintaining confidentiality of financial information
