An exciting opportunity exists for Systems & Cyber Security professionals  to join the team at Raytheon Australia.

These roles contribute to the delivery of systems & cyber security outcomes across complex systems and operating environments, supporting activities that may include system design and assurance, risk assessment, cyber resilience, incident response, and compliance with relevant security frameworks. Successful candidates will provide informed systems & cyber security advice and support to programs, projects, and operational teams across the organisation.

Depending on experience and level, the roles may also involve technical leadership, coaching, and mentoring of other staff, as well as contributing to the continuous improvement of the systems & cyber security capability at Raytheon Australia. It is expected that these roles will require regular travel and direct engagement with Defence customers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead or contribute to security risks assessment and business impact analysis, applying threat, vulnerability, and system knowledge to inform risk treatment and adherence to organisational procedures.
  • Support, and where required, lead activities across the systems & cyber security incident lifecycle, including investigation, impact assessment, coordination of response actions, and identification of control improvements. Opportunities may include exposure to digital forensics and post-incident reviews, depending on background and role seniority.
  • Contribute to the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of policies, standards and procedures. Supporting ongoing system compliance and audit readiness.
  • Define, review, and manage security and technical requirements for projects and operational systems, working within Agile and predictive delivery environments to ensure requirements traceability, stakeholder alignment, and effective change control.
  • Provide specialist cyber security advice to stakeholders by interpreting requirements, analysing system and operational contexts, and delivering clear, risk‑based recommendations to support secure outcomes.
  • Analyse security events, incidents, and operational metrics to identify trends and root causes, providing actionable insights to improve system resilience, reduce recurrence, and enhance service performance.
  • Depending on experience and level, provide technical leadership, coaching, and guidance to other security specialists, contributing to team capability development while operating effectively within a matrix organisation.


Skills, Experience and Qualifications

  • University degree in Cyber Security, Information Systems Security, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Relevant experience working in systems or cyber security roles, supporting complex, regulated, or high‑assurance environments. Appointments will be made at a level commensurate with skills and experience.
  • Demonstrated working to expert knowledge of relevant cyber security frameworks and standards, including the Australian Government Information Security Manual (ISM) and applicable Defence security policies and procedures.
  • Strong understanding of projects, programs, or operational systems, with the ability to apply cyber security principles to enhance security outcomes within a functional, product, or delivery environment.
  • Proven ability to produce clear, professional documentation and security artefacts, including reports, assessments, and recommendations suitable for technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
  • Experience supporting or contributing to security assurance, certification, or accreditation activities, or equivalent governance and compliance processes.
