SMX is seeking a Communications and Audio-Video Network General Support Specialist to provide a client organization with on- and off-site Tactical and Remote C5I Edge Systems (TARCES) solution engineering, special engineering, infrastructure and cable plant technology support, information technology system administration, and technical support services for their TARCES systems, subsystems, equipment, and ancillaries across various platforms.

The Communications and Video Support Specialist will support the installation and sustainment of audio/video (A/V) control systems, video teleconferencing (VTC) systems, Internet Protocol Television (IPTV) networks, radio receivers, transmitters, COMSEC equipment, controlled cryptographic items (CCI), and associated equipment. This may include the design, installation, and general sustainment/maintenance of related networks. The successful candidate will support existing technical systems while also enhancing current capabilities. This position is onsite, supporting multiple clients in Stuttgart, Germany, and surrounding areas.

Note: This position requires a Top Secret security clearance, which requires U.S. Citizenship due to work on Department of Defense (DoD) contracts.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Support conference rooms, executive suites, and desktop conferencing solutions
• Install and maintain Cisco codecs (desktop/rack-mounted) and Microsoft Teams hardware, including devices integrated into AV systems
• Design, install, operate, and maintain AV systems (Crestron & AMX), including display devices, projectors, televisions, camera systems, VTC systems, microphones, and speakers
• Provide hardware and software support for C5ISR (Command, Control, Communication, Computer, Combat Systems, Intelligence, Surveillance & Reconnaissance) systems for United States military personnel
• Install and program Cisco VTC equipment at key locations supporting high-priority missions
• Install and maintain AV system components including Crestron, Vaddio, Tesira Bi-Amp, Extron, and Cisco devices
• Provide support for C5ISR systems, including:
• Military communication systems
• LAN/WAN and wireless systems
• Commercial satellite systems
• Voice over IP (VoIP) and teleport/telephony connectivity
• Cellular telephone systems for command operations
• Support fiber optic solutions including cable fabrication, testing, splicing, terminations, and troubleshooting
• Conduct radio testing and firmware upgrades

Required Skills & Experience

• Clearance Required: Top Secret
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience supporting hardware and software communications solutions, including installation and sustainment
• Knowledge of A/V platforms such as AMX, Crestron, Tesira, Extron, Think Logical, and IPTV server solutions
• Experience with CAT6 and fiber optic cabling repair
• Experience with fiber optic maintenance and radio upgrades
• Strong communication skills for working with senior military personnel, clients, peers, and vendors
• Technically adept, with a systematic approach to problem-solving
• Proficient in Microsoft Office tools, including Teams, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word

Desired Skills & Experience

• Strong understanding of network/security infrastructure systems, including Netgear and Cisco managed switches, DNS, DHCP, and multicast traffic
• Familiarity with Variable Standing Wave Ratio (VSWR) testing of antennas
• Knowledge of:
