Job Description Summary

The goal of a Lead Sourcing Specialist is to manage and lead all sourcing activities related to a set of goods or services purchased in the HVS Product Line with the contribution of their stakeholders. He / She will be responsible for different commodity segments related to the AIS, GIS , FK and ME products in the site. By leading a culture of GEV beliefs & integrity, he/she is pursuing the objective to leverage GE HVS spend and to develop a best-in-class supply base that meets their strategic (e.g. localization, product development, vendor list) and operational (e.g. quality, lead-time, cost, EHS) needs. This role will report to the Site sourcing Leader.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Devising / formulating Seamless strategies to address every piece of sourcing requirement as regards Cables / Cable glands / All types of Fasteners / CT’s / CT’s / Gases / Coils / Counters / Cores / Densimeters / Motors / Anchor Bolts & capsules / Foundation Bolts / CT core & Assly’s / Resistors / Capacitors , in accordance with GEV Sourcing protocols / guidelines.
  • Driving best practices and ensuring overall TCO is met with, for the commodity with an appropriate commercial bench marking.
  • Close coordination with GCL’s and PL Sourcing teams, to get best on the commercials / allied supply reliability for the site.
  • Good knowledge of various manufacturing processes and Supply base awareness is essential, which includes overseas supply base
  • Attain net deflations targets as defined for the commodity, YOY.
  • To monitor suppliers performance and tweak SOB’s based on QCD parameters.
  • Devise / Define / formulate sourcing strategies for the commodity, which includes supplier panel optimization / new suppliers onboarding / development / commercials finalization and Inco terms management
  • Lead negotiations for the commodity and define SOB, based on the Total cost of ownership.
  • Price bench marking / Market indices monitoring and managing effectively the PVC data with relevant details / backup.
  • Effective COPQ / ECN management as required.
  • To manage efficiently the Quotation analysis / bench marking / ABC & ZBC aspects for the commodity.
  • Effectively working with cross functions on the TOW /NPI/Other localization actions / Dual source developments / Sole source risk mitigation actions.
  • Should be complied with GEV protocols of business at all times
  • Expected to take conscious / calculative decisions, in the interest of business with proper approvals in place, while discharging the position driven commodity responsibilities.

Required Qualifications

  • BE / B.Tech – Mechanical / Automotive / Production tech / Electrical / EEE in Supply chain would be preferred with min 12+ years in an MNC, with commodity expertise
