The role is accountable for the technical solution design, implementation and continuous improvement of integrations between COTS system and multiple data sources in Clinical Trials Supply chain area in alignment with Agile and DevOps principles, working closely with the Engineering Manager, Product Owners, Facilitators.

A pivotal area of this role is creating cloud-native integrations and web applications to deliver data in scope of Clinical Trials Supply Chain area that is directly responsible for accelerating medicine delivery to patients.

The Senior Application Engineer, CMC Software Engineering role will provide YOU the opportunity to lead key activities to progress YOUR career.  These responsibilities include the following:

  • Be able to design and develop new software and improve existing software to fit unique customer needs and configurations.

  • Provide Technical knowledge and delivery to an Agile team composed of GSK employees, strategic partners and software vendors.

  • Contribute to estimates of resources, time, and technical requirements of modifying, configuring, and installing the organization’s products to meet customer needs.

  • Liaise with engineers within the product team and across multiple product teams to ensure that products and services are modified, configured, and installed according to customer needs.

  • Support Product Owners and Agile Facilitators to design, develop and transition new applications into production.

  • Follow GSK Security, Quality and Regulatory standards to ensures that technical delivery is fully compliant.

  • Create, contribute to, and maintain up-to-date project documentation.

Basic Qualifications:

We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goal
 

  • At least 3 years’ experience delivering applications and micro-services in Java Spring Boot.

  • Web Applications front end experience in React, Vue or Angular (at least one framework).

  • Experienced in using Microsoft Azure cloud platform.

  • Experience and understanding of JBoss / Wild Fly Enterprise Application Framework.

  • Building and maintaining DevOps pipelines - ideally in Azure DevOps.

  • Knowledge and experience using Docker and Kubernetes.

  • Experienced in working with Agile environment.

  • Proven analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Experienced in authoring and reviewing technical documentation.

  • Effective communication in English (communicating with teams located all around the world).

Preferred Qualifications:

If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus:
 

  • Experienced in ETL/ELT, SQL and relational databases.

  • Working experience with Azure Data Factory.

  • Experience of API-based design and application integration technologies.

  • Experience in agile development, DevOps, ITIL, relevant technology platforms and frameworks including cloud technologies.

  • Previous experience in the healthcare industry or other science-based field.
