Primary Function

The Sr Systems Engineer - Cloud is responsible for assisting with all levels of Windows Infrastructure Systems planning, architecture, design, deployment, and troubleshooting within the Systems Engineering team. The Sr Systems Engineer - Cloud will also play a crucial role in the integration of modern cloud technologies, including Entra\Azure, into the company's infrastructure. The role ensures systems are both efficient and secure..

Principal Duties:

  • Develop complete sets of application, architectural, or infrastructure system designs and implementation plans in accordance with enterprise standards.
  • Provide 3rd tier support and advanced troubleshooting of Windows Server systems.
  • Advanced configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of large-scale Microsoft systems.
  • Integrate and manage cloud technologies, particularly Entra\Azure, into the existing infrastructure.
  • Advanced scripting for system automation and cloud environment optimizations.
  • Review existing system architecture, recommend improvements, and validate security and efficiency of cloud integrations.
  • Stay abreast of new cloud technologies, ensuring the company remains at the forefront of industry advancements.
  • Assist in the strategic planning of cloud infrastructure, including Entra\Azure, to meet current and future business needs.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation schedule to ensure 24/7 support for critical network and system infrastructure.
  • Performs related duties as assigned by management.

Education and Experience

Required education and experience.

  • Bachelor's degree in computer sciences, Information Technology, or related field, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • 7+ years in a corporate environment, with significant experience in cloud platforms, particularly Entra\Azure.
  • 8+ years Information Security experience, with strong focus in directory services platforms (e.g. MS Active Directory, MS Entra ID, OKTA, MS Office365).
  • Experience working with a team of Systems Administrators in an enterprise business environment.
  • Experience in migrating and managing resources in the cloud.
  • Experience with modern virtualization technologies and containerized solutions.
  • Experience with Agile methodologies and corresponding Agile based tools.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Required knowledge, skills, and ability.

  • Technical excellence in various Microsoft systems.
  • Proficient with cloud services such as Entra\Azure\OKTA.
  • Technical competence in major Linux Distributions and various network/distributed computing environment concepts.
  • Advanced understanding of TCP/IP, routing concepts, and cloud networking.
  • Advanced scripting abilities, especially in cloud automation.
  • Programming experience in an applicable language is a plus.
  • Proficiency in vendor evaluation, budgeting, and strategic planning.
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills in both traditional and cloud environments.
  • Microsoft and other relevant certifications are a plus.
  • Detailed knowledge and experience in enabling and supporting integrated Entra ID applications, Single Sign-On, Multi-Factor Authentication, and Conditional Access Policies.
  • Detailed knowledge and experience in supporting cloud joined, hybrid joined, and multi-domain enterprise directory services platforms based on best practices.
  • Detailed knowledge and experience with automating processes by leveraging out of box capabilities, PowerShell/Python scripting, MS Graph, and PowerBI.
  • Proven ability to influence and gain trust at senior management levels in multi-cultural environments.
  • Ability to manage complex activities simultaneously to short timescales.
  • Ability to demonstrate continuous improvement.
  • Unix/Linux system administrator or engineering experience.
  • Implement and operate a complex single sign-on SAML/OAuth-based central authentication platform.
  • DNS (Internal\External) Experience and management.
  • Certificate Management.
  • Mimecast Experience.
