Role Definition

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Order & Production Scheduler to manage demand forecasting, production scheduling and planning. This role is crucial in ensuring timely order fulfilment, optimal factory utilization, close collaboration with cross functional teams.

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Supply Chian, Operations management, or related field
• 6+ years of experience in production scheduling, order management.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Proficiency in SAP (PP, MM, SD and Variant configuration)
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes, shop floor dynamics, and BOM/recipe management.

Responsibilities

• Overseeing new sales orders, extracting critical details, and ensuring seamless communication to relevant teams for action.
• Evaluating customer-initiated order change requests, assessing their feasibility from material, production planning, technical, and logistics standpoints.
• Acting as the primary point of contact for customer inquiries, providing timely updates on lead times, production schedules, order changes, and reschedules.
• Aligning customer orders with the sales production plan to achieve monthly targets.
• Collaborating closely with other departments to prioritize and manage sales and customer needs effectively

Skill Descriptors

Production Scheduling & Planning:

Tactical, Strategic: Knowledge of effective planning techniques and ability to contribute to operational (short term), tactical (1-2 years) and strategic (3-5 years) planning in support of the overall business plan.

 Level Working Knowledge:

• Create and maintain detailed production scheduling (MPS), order slots based on dealer orders, forecasts and plant capacity.

• Optimize production slots to maximize efficiency
• Align production plans based on build recipe, raw materials and inventory norms.
• Ensure data integrity for all planning and execution processes.
• Monitor production order and resolve grief promptly.

Demand Management:

Knowledge of processes and methods of Demand Management; ability to effectively sense, predict, plan for and manage the demand for products and services.

 Level Working Knowledge:

• Gather and prepare essential demand information to inform planning decisions.
• Contribute to short-term demand planning for specific products or production sites.
• Generate key demand management reports, supporting senior staff in reconciling demand balances.
• Identify and report on existing issues and concerns within demand management operations.
• Utilize demand planning tools to predict and plan demand, analysing seasonal factors and trends to effectively influence outcomes.

Forecasting:

Knowledge of forecasting tools, approaches and practices; ability to determine product demand and accurately estimating production requirements and loads.

 Level Working Knowledge:

• Contributing to the development of short-term forecasts for specific products or production sites.
• Collecting and analysing demand data using specialized tools and established procedures.
• Identifying and leveraging relevant information sources for weekly, monthly, and quarterly forecasting activities.
• Conducting research on seasonal trends for key products or entire product lines.
• Articulating the impact of various business conditions and activities on demand

Effective Communications & Problem Solving:

Individual with strong communication skills, capable of clearly transmitting, receiving, and accurately interpreting ideas, information, and critical needs.

Should also possess a comprehensive knowledge of various approaches, tools, and techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and effectively resolving organizational, operational, or process problems.

This includes the ability to apply problem-solving expertise appropriately across diverse situations.

Level Working Knowledge:

• Exceptional communication skills to effectively convey, receive, and interpret complex information across all levels.
• Adept at identifying, analysing, and resolving operational and process challenges, applying systematic problem-solving approaches.
• Ability to present information clearly through both written reports and oral presentations, adapting communication for diverse audiences.
• Strong collaborative approach to problem-solving, understanding stakeholder perspectives and facilitating consensus on solutions.
• Skilled in using diagnostic tools and fact-finding techniques to accurately identify root causes and propose viable alternatives.
