Senior Director, Head of Communications Engineering

Overview:  

GEICO is on a multi-year journey to re-platform the Insurance industry, removing friction across Customers, Partners, Marketplace, Segments, Channels, and Experiences. 

The Team: The Unified Communication Service Engineering team is transitioning disparate customer communication touchpoints into a world class services company by building the foundational voice, chat, text, email and core contact center experiences for sales, service and claims operations used by 20,000 GEICO contact center agents, field adjusters and sales representatives sell, endorse, and service more than 80 million customers and prospective customers. This team partners heavily with engineering teams in infrastructure engineering, product management, data science, lines of businesses, and other functions to accomplish their goals.

The Role Purpose: We are looking for technically conversant engineering organization leader with domain expertise in AI/ML, chatbots, and public cloud technologies, to help us build world class consumer touchpoints.

Responsibilities: 

To be successful in this role, you will need to:

  • Champion the use of AI/ML for optimal customer experience across the product and platform portfolio. 
  • Leverage expertise in AWS and/or other public cloud environments to deploy solutions.
  • Leverage experience in building multi-modal customer interaction technologies (chat, voice email, SMS) to build work class products and platforms.
  • Attract world class talent and build strong engineering teams.
  • Develop and own relationships with your business partners, infrastructure engineering, marketing, and product management.

Qualifications: 

Sample

  • Master’s degree in computer science or relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience. Advanced degree preferred. 
  • Deep understanding of the customer engagement methods (chat, voice, email/SMS) as well as practical experience in commercial deployments.
  • Extensive experience with designing, developing, and operating software at scale.
  • Experience in budget management, resource allocation, and vendor collaboration. 


 

Annual Salary

$195,000.00 - $315,000.00

The above annual salary range is a general guideline. Multiple factors are taken into consideration to arrive at the final hourly rate/ annual salary to be offered to the selected candidate. Factors include, but are not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the role, the selected candidate’s work experience, education and training, the work location as well as market and business considerations.
