JOB DESCRIPTION:

Job Title: Manufacturing Machine Operator, Liquid Packaging (2nd shift)

Pay & Shift

The hourly rate for this position is $20.50/hr + 5% shift differential. The 2nd shift and hours are 3:30pm-12:00am.

What You'll Work On

The Packaging Operator in Liquid Packaging has operational knowledge of the following equipment: depalletizer, line filler, seamer, labeler, case packer, cartoner, and forklift.  This role requires the ability to troubleshoot on-line situations and perform applicable routine lubrications and preventive maintenance. The operator will perform all associated production sampling and documentation per applicable Quality documents and must be willing to work the hours they're assigned. Additional tasks include:

For Filler and Seamer Operation:

  • Maintenance of product level in filler
  • Ensure proper operating parameters for filler, seamer and can washer
  • Perform preventative maintenance on filler and seamer
  • Ensure commodities are released prior to usage
  • Grease and oil seamer as needed
  • Perform visual can inspection
  • Fill weight checks
  • Ensure proper FP tank hook-up to filling lines

For Clean Up Operation:

  • Perform preventative maintenance check on filler valves and pistons
  • Ensure proper cleaning methods are used during a wash job
  • Cleaning area to include:  filler valves, filler pistons, filler screens, filler bowl, product filters, filler room floors and walls.

For Depalletizer, Labeler, Casepacker, and Cartoner:

  • Set up equipment according to packing requirements and adjust as necessary during production
  • Load commodities into equipment
  • Maintain inventory counts of commodities used during each batch
  • Maintain cleanliness of equipment and work stations
  • Perform and document Quality checks and preventative maintenance

You’ll be accountable for meeting our compliance standards including FDA, OSHA and Abbott policies and procedures.

 

Required Qualifications

  • High School diploma/GED
  • Entry level manufacturing or equivalent experience
  • Completed safety training
  • Understand Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)
  • Experience driving a forklift
  • Quality inspection, documentation, and inventory control experience
  • Ability to follow verbal Instructions, recognize signs, and follow complex and simple written directions
  • Able to read & write and prepare simple Reports
  • Ability to read gauges & instruments
  • Use of hand tools
  • Able to add, Subtract, Multiply, Decimals, Divide, Fractions, Proportions

The base pay for this position is

$16.55 – $33.15/hour
