Job Summary:
The Automatic Baler Operator will ensure that the automatic baler is run efficiently and safely.
Job Description
Essential Functions
- Ensure the emergency stops on both grading lines are clear and ready to use.
- Ensure the hopper is clear.
- Open the auto tie device and ensure the twisters and needles are clear and clean out any debris.
- Open safety door and visually inspect the area where the needles reach for the wires. Clear out any debris.
- Ensure the equipment is loaded with an ample wire supply.
- Ensure proper lubrication on any moving parts.
- Check the hydraulic fluid for proper levels.
- Check to make sure lint and debris are clear from sensor areas.
- Turn key on, switch on to manual and wait until the system boots up (the Allen Bradley control panel will show complete boot up).
- Push the start button and wait for the motor to engage and then press reset.
- Turn the equipment to automatic and turn on both moving conveyors.
- Monitor to ensure all of the material is presented to the baler properly.
- When the bales are tied off, ensure all wires have been correctly tied.
- When a bale is ejected from the equipment, have the bale weighed and place a weight ticket on the bale.
- Weigh other salvage and write the weight on the box.
Minimum Qualifications
Required Skills:
Education
- High school diploma or GED equivalent is required.
Experience
Knowledge and Skills
- Able to follow verbal and written instructions.
- Able to work as a team player.
- Must have good mechanical skills.
