The Cost Accountant will be responsible for applying accounting principles to the month-end close process, prepare account reconciliations and reports, and address various inventory related activities including special projects. The Cost Accountant will review cost expenditures, record data, and provide internal reporting to support the Operations teams.

General Responsibilities
• Key participant in close activities for the company to accurately report results within the closing cycle
• Prepare, reconcile, and report on relevant cost accounting close activities
• Prepare journal entries and balance sheet account reconciliations
• Collaborates on cost accounting system, documentation, records, and reporting
• Support internal stakeholders to make effective business decisions
• Analyzes changes in product design, raw materials, manufacturing methods, or services provided, to determine effects on costs
• Review and document costs for all external inventory, labor, and material purchases
• Prepare and complete internal cost audits
• Review and document inventory and material purchases
• Accurately record and update existing and new purchased materials and goods
• Compile documentation on standard costs and company production costs
• Ensure compliance to applicable accounting guidelines, polices, and internal control procedures
• Coordinate and execute physical inventories according to annual plans

Experience / Qualifications
• A university degree required (i.e. Bachelors degree) or equivalent relevant work experience
• Must be a team player able to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to handle multiple competing tasks and demands
• Strong communication skills; oral, written and presentation
• Strong organization, planning and time management skills to achieve results
• Strong personal and professional ethical values and integrity
• Holds self-accountable to achieving goals and standards
• Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel)
• Strong interpersonal & collaboration skills to work effectively with all levels of the organization including suppliers and/or external customers
