How you will create an impact

  • This is a unique position reporting to the “Head of Aerospace Business Intelligence and Exposure Reporting”, sitting across the Global Aerospace platform though primarily focused on the UK region.
  • This role requires a collaborative contributor and would be responsible for performing tasks that directly support underwriting management.
  • Provide analytic insights into the Aerospace portfolio, to help support the development, alignment, and execution of portfolio strategies.
  • Establish process to track Financial Budgets. Analysis of top line performance, via data analysis & interaction with the UK UW and Finance teams. Develop an understanding of market conditions.
  • Produce data to support the placement of the Aerospace reinsurance programme, including regular interaction with internal & external stakeholders.
  • Ability to interact with Actuarial, to aid the production of profitability assessments & the development of Aerospace rating tools.
  • Compile UK management reports and build the expertise to present the underlying metrics within the Underwriting teams.
  • Manage the UK MBR reporting process.
  • Cooperating with Finance, Operations & Claims to ensure internal reporting deadlines advised in a timely manner.
  • Be able to develop dashboards, to communicate findings in a user-friendly way, thereby formulising the presentation of underwriting metrics and generating process efficiencies.
  • Take ownership of projects.
  • Provide excellent service to our brokers and clients through a consistent, timely and proactive approach
  • Maintain accurate files and adhere to all standards and service level agreements for premium processing, policy issuance and file maintenance.  
  • Ensure that all our customers are treated fairly in accordance with American International Group UK Ltd standards and maintain high service levels to both internal and external customers.

What you’ll need to succeed

  • Proven experience in the London marketplace in a market facing position within an aviation insurer (or broking house)
  • Risk analysis and technical skills
  • Excellent interpersonal, time management, communication, and presentation skills
  • Ability to network and build relationships.
  • Organised, highly motivated, self-starter who takes responsibility for own performance and demonstrates leadership in their approach to work, training and knowledge seeking.
  • Proven ability to work within a team framework and to support the team manager as required.
  • Competent IT levels –Advanced Excel, Word, Powerpoint.
  • Ability to operate with a degree of independence, whilst having the ability to build relationships with various divisions within the business.
