Cleveland Clinic’s Department of Pharmacy provides care for the diverse needs of more than 400,000 patients
accessing Cleveland Clinic’s ambulatory pharmacies each year. Medina Hospital’s Ambulatory Pharmacy has a compassionate, detail-oriented and efficient team of caregivers who work collaboratively to identify areas of improvement, promote innovation and focus on accountability. This PRN position offers you a flexible schedule and opportunities to apply for part-time and full-time positions and join the Pharmacy Technician Apprentice Program.  


A caregiver in this position works Day/Evening/Night/Weekend.   


A caregiver who excels in this role will:  

  • Refill and maintain automated dispensing systems.  

  • Fill medication carts daily.  

  • Prepare orders and maintain inventory for the pharmacy.  

  • Repackage bulk medications.  


Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:  

  • A high school diploma or GED.  

  • Registration as a Certified Pharmacy Technician, Registered Pharmacy Technician or Pharmacy Technician Trainee with the Ohio Board of Pharmacy. You must be eligible for registration as a Certified Pharmacy Technician with the Ohio Board of Pharmacy and register within 6 months of hire.  


Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:  

  • Completion of a formal pharmacy technician training program.  

  • Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) through the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB). CPhT through the PTCB is required within 18 months of hire.  

  • Six months of hospital experience.

Physical Requirements:

  • Typical physical demands include ability to perform the job while standing, walking, reaching, stretching and sitting for prolonged periods; manual dexterity sufficient to perform computer, dispensing, and compounding.
