Job Description Summary
The Configuration Management Services Technical Leader will provide leadership and technical direction to a team of global Configuration Management engineers and contractors providing New Units Commissioning Spares, Initial New Unit Spares for Services and Outage Spare Parts Planning, Validation and Recording. In this role you will be responsible for managing the creation of recommended spare parts planning, supporting initiatives that drive productivity along with providing technical oversight/direction to ensure safety, quality, on-time and on-budget delivery to our GE Vernova Gas Power customers. This position covers all heavy-duty gas turbine and combined cycle fleets and technologies.
Job Description
What you’ll do
Provide strategic technical leadership to a global team of configuration management engineers and contractors:
- Set clear priorities, coach and mentor, provide timely feedback, and foster an inclusive, high performing culture.
- Ensure adherence to budget and proactively highlight variances and mitigation plans to leadership.
- Drive process and culture harmonization across the team.
Provide technical oversight for recommended spare parts lists for new unit commissioning, initial spares for services, and outage planning for heavy‑duty gas turbines and combined cycles (across applicable fleets and technologies).
Drive process excellence and Lean:
- Implement standard work, visual management, and continuous improvement routines (daily management).
- Lead and participate in Kaizens to deliver SQDC outcomes; manage KPIs and action plans.
Partner and communicate:
- Work cross‑functionally with Engineering, Services, Parts, Supply Chain, Sourcing and Field Services to align on customer needs and delivery commitments.
- Communicate status, risks, and resource needs to leadership with clarity and transparency.
- Collaborate with peer Technical Leaders, the Principal Engineer, and Senior Engineers to set strategy, standards, and roadmaps (tools, data, standard work), allocate capacity, and ensure consistent execution across the workstreams
Advance digital tools and data:
- Collaborate with Digital/IT to resolve tool issues; act as process owner to define requirements and support development for front‑end tools (PALM/Teamcenter, PowerNow 2.0) and integrations to downstream systems (SAP/Oracle ERP).
- Identify automation and data quality opportunities to improve speed and accuracy.

What you’ll bring (Basic Qualifications)
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, physics, mathematics, computer science—or equivalent practical experience.
- Relevant experience in configuration management, design engineering, or manufacturing engineering.
- Ability to read engineering drawings and interpret BoM structures.
- Experience with PLM and ERP systems (e.g., GTCC PLM/Teamcenter and SAP/Oracle ERP) or similar.
- Proactive approach to problem solving and continuous improvement.
- Professional proficiency in English.
