We are hiring a Sr Reporting advisor to oversee the collection, analysis, and reporting of data for our Operations Excellence Management Systems Processes! This includes leveraging Power BI and AI-powered analytics to transform raw data into actionable insights that drive improved performance. You will collaborate cross-functionally to provide audience specific level reporting to support data-driven decision making, with a strong focus on meeting the needs of our internal frontline employees.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree Business Analytics,  Engineering, Computer Science, Statistics or Mathematics, or related field
  • Eight years of experience in data business analysis moderate to high complexity operations reporting 
  • Background in technical engineering skills. Proficiency with coding, specifically with SQL, DAX functions
  • One year of experience with Low Code Automation Tools, specifically Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate Cloud and Power Automate Desktop)
  • Demonstrated expertise in Power BI and other data visualization/analytics tools
  • Strong critical thinking skills: able to look at numbers, trends, and data and come to new conclusions based on the findings
  • Proven ability to translate complex data into actionable insights for leadership and frontline employees
  • Awareness of big data tools (e.g., Databricks, Snowflake etc.)
  • Communication and collaboration skills to gain an understanding of the organizational issue from stakeholders and focus on internal customer service
  • Working knowledge of statistical analysis, predictive modeling, and AI/ML techniques
     

Responsibilities:

  • Develop advanced Power BI dashboards to support processes KPI’s reporting, data insights and actions to consider for areas of improvement
  • Create SQL queries and familiar with coding to integrate data to calculate moderate to complex metrics
  • Partner with operational leaders and frontline workers to understand data needs and translate findings into clear data insight visualizations
  • Documenting reporting features, logic applied, and data glossary for reports
  • Support project management to ensure accurate, timely, and comprehensive reporting
  • Apply innovative and agile thinking towards continuous process improvements and system enhancements to increase the efficiency and impact of data function
  • Identify opportunities to enhance data collection, quality, and analysis processes to better serve internal customers
  • Foster a culture of data-driven decision making and internal customer service excellence across the organization


Location and other Key Details:

  • You will work out of our Calgary head office, located in the Suncor Energy Centre at 150 – 6th Ave S.W.
  • Hours of work are a regular 40-hour work week, Monday to Friday
  • Our business professional roles follow internal compensation guidelines and the pay band will generally be based years of experience and scope of work
