Title:  Head of Sales Development 

Division and Department: Enterprise Sales

Status: Full-Time Exempt

Reports to: Vice President of Sales

Location:  Onsite – Greater Salt Lake City, UT

 

Job Summary

The Head of Sales Development will lead and scale a high performing team responsible for driving pipeline generation and revenue growth. Be involved in setting the strategic vision for sales development, driving operational excellence, and working closely with cross functional teams, including marketing, sales, and operations. The ideal candidate is a highly motivated and results driven leader with a passion for building and scaling teams, processes, and programs.

 

Essential Job Functions

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Sales Development Representatives (SDRs) globally, ensuring high performance and engagement.
  • Recruit, onboard, and retain top SDR talent while creating a culture of accountability, growth, and collaboration.
  • Develop and execute the overall strategy for the sales development function to drive qualified pipeline and support revenue growth targets.
  • Define key performance indicators (KPIs) for the team and create metrics driven strategies for optimizing outreach, engagement, and conversion.
  • Work closely with sales, marketing, and operations teams to ensure alignment on go to market strategies, campaigns, and lead generation initiatives.
  • Act as a bridge between marketing and sales to ensure seamless lead handoff and follow up processes.
  • Stay up to date with industry trends, competitive insights, and market dynamics to continuously evolve the sales development strategy.
  • Experiment with new approaches to outreach, including leveraging automation, personalization, and new digital channels.
  • Develop and maintain dashboards to track the performance of the sales development team.
  • Regularly report on progress to senior leadership and provide insights to inform broader company sales strategies.

 

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 8+ years of experience in sales development, inside sales, or business development, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.

 

Preferred Skills & Experience

  • Proven track record of building, scaling, and leading high performing sales development teams, preferably in a SaaS or technology driven company.
  • Strong understanding of sales development tools and platforms (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot, Outreach, Clari, etc.).
  • Experience with inbound and outbound lead generation strategies.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Data driven mindset with a strong understanding of sales metrics, reporting, and forecasting.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
  • Global or international sales experience.
