About the Role
To lead and oversee the end-to-end operations of agency compensation and administration, ensuring strategic alignment with business goals, regulatory compliance, and operational excellence. This role is responsible for guiding a team of specialists, driving process improvements, and providing strategic direction on agency movement, compensation structures, and administrative governance to support the growth and sustainability of the agency distribution channel.
Strategic Leadership & Oversight
- Provide strategic direction and leadership across all agency operational functions, including licensing, agency movement, due diligence, and policy assignments.
- Develop and implement strategies for efficient licensing and agent movement processes aligned with regulatory requirements and business goals.
- Act as the key decision-maker in resolving complex operational issues, identifying root causes, and implementing sustainable solutions.
- Monitor industry trends and regulatory changes to proactively adapt policies and procedures.
Governance & Compliance
- Ensure all agency-related transactions comply with internal policies and external regulations (e.g., BNM, LIAM, MTA, PIAM).
- Lead governance of third-party management (TPM) exercises and ensure timely completion of regulatory and internal reporting obligations.
- Maintain 100% compliance with SOPs and drive continuous improvement in governance practices.
- Communicate policy updates, process changes, and regulatory requirements effectively across the organization.
- Provide expert guidance and support to stakeholders on licensing and movement matters.
Operational Excellence
- Oversee end-to-end processes for agent licensing, renewals, transfers, resignations, and reappointments.
- Guide and support the team in managing high-volume, time-sensitive processes such as onboarding, contract stamping, and movement updates.
- Champion system enhancements and process automation by defining user requirements, validating UAT results, and ensuring successful deployment.
- Oversee preparation and accuracy of reports and data analytics related to agency movement, providing insights for strategic decision-making.
People Leadership & Collaboration
- Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing team to ensure timely and accurate execution of licensing and movement activities.
- Foster a culture of continuous learning and high performance.
- Collaborate closely with transformation personnel to assess current processes and identify opportunities for efficiency improvements through system automation. This includes defining user requirements, validating User Acceptance Testing (UAT) results, and ensuring successful system deployment.
- Serve as a key liaison to agency leaders and business partners, addressing escalated issues and ensuring high service delivery.
Job Requirements:
Education Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Insurance, or a related field.
Working Experience:
- Minimum 8–10 years of experience in the insurance or Takaful industry, with at least 3 years in a leadership or strategic role overseeing agency operations, compensation, or administration.
Certifications / Licenses:
- TBE (Takaful Basic Examination)
- CEILI (Certificate Examination in Investment-Linked Insurance)
- PCE (Pre-Contract Examination for Insurance Agents)
