Citi’s Commercial Bank (“CCB”) is looking for Full-Time Associates to join the bank. This role is specifically to support the Life Sciences coverage team in either our New York or San Francisco office, supporting clients ranging from VC-backed startups through larger public corporates, across fast growing healthcare verticals (biopharma, med tech, tools and diagnostics and healthcare IT).

The Life Sciences Team within the Commercial Banking finds ways to help our clients to maximize their growth while taking full advantage of Citi’s banking products. That means knowing all about our deposit and lending, as well as our cash management, trade, FX (foreign exchange) and capital markets solutions. The Full-Time Associate Program strives to bring in the best and brightest talent and support them as they develop into the next generation of commercial banking leaders globally.  The Associate receives a foundation of knowledge and training required to contribute as a valuable resource on a relationship coverage team. Associates receive real-world work and add value to their teams during their time at Citi, with significant hands-on activity supporting the client base of the team.

The role of Coverage team members is to serve as a thought partner to our clients, working closely with them to deliver the full breadth of Citi’s solutions to help them fund their operations and expand both locally and overseas.

Associates play a critical role in meeting the needs of our clients and prospects, including:

• Conducting company research and industry analysis
• Taking ownership of the client experience, including partnering with Bankers and Product teams to determine which products to leverage in order to help clients achieve their goals
• Playing a role in deal management and client presentation preparation, including creating business development presentations, pitch books, prospect memos, and other client-related decks
• Interacting with partners across the firm, including product, credit risk, investment banking, legal, marketing, operations, risk, compliance, and technology teams
• How bankers interact with clients and identify their needs
• Identifying the various product types and how these solutions best fit client needs
• Engaging with clients, prospects, and centers of influence

Qualifications:

• 2 years’ work experience, credit experience or commercial banking experience
• Demonstrated interest in life sciences, innovation industries, and investors in the innovation economy
• Formal credit training preferred
• Experience partnering with stakeholders to achieve goals
• Relationship & pipeline management experience
• Experience with Salesforce, Pitchbook, FactSet a plus
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, MS Word, Access, Excel, and PowerPoint
• Strong communication skills; written & verbal
• Bachelor's/University degree in Finance, Economics or Accounting
