Job Summary:

We are currently looking for an Information Security intern to join us in Brno. In this role, you will join the smart, skilled and dedicated people that make up Red Hat's Global Information Risk and Security team. This long-term internship provides a unique opportunity for you to draw on and develop your corporate information security and operations knowledge to meet the challenges of securing Red Hat, the open source way. 

  • Paid 12-month internship with possible extension to 24 months in total. 

  • Flexible working hours, on average 20 hours/week

  • Start date on February 1st, 2025

The focus for Red Hat's Intern Program is a dual partnership between the Emerging Talent Team, and our intern managers. We can offer you professional development, social engagement and networking, performance and development, and meaningful work throughout your time at Red Hat.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to and improve the existing team infrastructure and tooling. 

  • Work on improving automated detection and alerting for potential security incidents.

  • Support existing and propose new information security awareness initiatives. 

Required Skills:

  • Must be currently enrolled in 3rd or 4th year of a Bachelor's degree or in a Master's degree in an accredited university program in the Czech Republic  during the full duration of the internship

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English 

  • Knowledge of basic Information Security concepts. University experience with Information Security would be a plus. 

  • Experience with Linux systems and a familiarity with the security features, maintenance and hardening of Linux platforms would be a plus. 

  • Knowledge of or willingness to learn a scripting language (such as Ruby, Python, Perl or Shell) to automate solutions. 

  • Desire to work effectively with a global team using various communication methods.

  • Prior participation in open source software projects would be a plus.
