Northrop Grumman’s Defense Systems sector is looking for an Engineering Technician – level 2 or 3 to support the Propulsion Systems & Controls (PS&C) Business Unit. The position will be located in Elkton, Maryland.

Northrop Grumman Propulsion Systems and Controls (PS&C) facility in Elkton, Maryland began solid-propellant rocket operations in 1948. Today, the Elkton PS&C facility designs, develops, and produces solid-propellant propulsion and ordnance systems in programs professionally managed for a wide variety of Government and commercial customers. The facility also serves as the hub for offsite engineering and test facilities in Ronkonkoma, NY and Palm Beach Gardens, FL.

Elkton, Maryland is located on the Upper Chesapeake Bay, midway between Philadelphia and Baltimore. Description

Provides technical support to engineers on a variety of technical tasks. Gathers, maintains, formats, compiles, and manipulates technical data, such as laboratory or material test results and engineering design changes. Produces engineering documentation, reports, drawings (flow charts, block diagrams, and schematics). Performs detailed mathematical calculations using established formulas; preliminary analyses of data where guidelines are provided in such areas as trajectory adequacy, model dimensional consistency; and quantitative judgments concerning technical data. Uses personal computer in performance of analyses and development of documentation/reports. May conduct tests and record data to assist with engineering evaluation or analysis. May have additional assigned duties, including sample preparation, building and disassembly of rocket motors, propellant mixing and machining, and supporting 3D printing operations.

Level to be hired to depends on demonstrated education, skills, experience, and competency.

Qualifications for Level 2:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• At least 2 years of experience
• Must be a US citizen and able to obtain a secret clearance

Qualifications for Level 3:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• At least 4 years of experience
• Must be a US citizen and able to obtain a secret clearance

Primary Level Salary Range: $53,500.00 - $89,100.00

Secondary Level Salary Range: $54,500.00 - $90,800.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
