Key responsibilities

In this role, you will have the opportunity to support the Operational Technology (OT) Team. OT is what keeps automated production systems running and data flowing in a factory. ABB seeks curious individuals looking to build hands-on experience in maintaining OT devices and software to ensure reliability and security of mission-critical hardware systems.

The work model for the role is onsite with a possibility of hybrid work.
This role is contributing to the Operations Team in Heidelberg.
 

You will be mainly accountable for

• Planning, executing and monitoring regular maintenance tasks on OT devices (hardware refreshes, backups, etc.)
• Implementing, reviewing and improving OT automations
• Developing and supporting software applications for supporting manufacturing processes
• Collaborating on the definition of internal OT standards
• Implementing and revising data extraction and transformation pipelines for manufacturing data analytics
• On-site engagement with end-users
• Engagement with a diverse set of tools, programming languages, and challenges
   

Qualifications for the role

• Academic background in engineering, natural sciences or information technology or related fields
• Experience with software development and computer systems
• Proven knowledge of script languages, ideally PowerShell or Batch
• Curious nature with a drive to bring results as an independent contributor in a highly skilled team
• Fluency in German and primary availability for on-site work
