The Opportunity
This position works out of our Pleasanton, CA location in the Heart Failure Division. In Abbott’s Heart Failure (HF) business, we’re developing solutions to diagnose, monitor and manage heart failure, allowing people to restore their health and get on with their lives. The Project Coordinator manages the development and implementation processes for the company’s products and services, involving departmental or cross-functional teams focused on the delivery of new or existing products.
What You'll Work On
Estimate project effort levels and resource requirements using standard estimating techniques and tools, and by collaborating with appropriate staff to understand the scope of work.
Prepare project plans, schedules, and budgets using project management tools such as Microsoft Project, while working with appropriate staff to define the tasks necessary to complete the project.
Direct project execution by assigning tasks, monitoring project schedules, identifying risks, and developing and implementing contingency plans.
Ensure project quality by applying standard development methodologies and collaborating with SQA to develop and execute project quality plans.
Communicate project status by preparing standard reports and participating in departmental and customer status update meetings.
Resolve project issues by working with team members, project stakeholders, and others as appropriate.
Consult with internal project groups by sharing project management knowledge and assisting or mentoring less experienced project leaders in project management processes and techniques.
Participate in external project management organizations, conferences, and seminars to remain current with industry best practices by engaging in professional associations and following a professional development plan focused on project management.
Cultivate a broad range of internal networks and begin to develop an extensive external network of resources to facilitate task completion.
May lead project teams of moderate scope. Provide guidance to less experienced staff. Act as a mentor to junior individual contributors.
Exert influence at the peer level and occasionally at first levels of management. Plan, organize, and prioritize daily work activities to meet established schedules.
Perform responsibilities within a quality system environment, where failure to adequately perform tasks may result in noncompliance with governmental regulations.
Work on moderately complex problems where analysis of situations or data requires evaluation of identifiable factors. Exercise judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate actions.
Demonstrate broad knowledge of technical alternatives and understand their impact on the systems environment.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
Minimum 2 years relevant work experience with a solid understanding of the specified functional area.
Demonstrate working technical knowledge and application of concepts, practices, and procedures.
Possesses a general understanding of business unit or group functions.

The base pay for this position is
$81,500.00 – $141,300.00In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
