The PI’s research lab focuses on soft electronics, soft robotics, energy conversion and thermal management.
We are looking for a Research Fellow to deliver project milestones for the field of iontronics particularly on energy harvesting, actuator and sensing integration. The role will focus on research on iontronics applications for future energy and soft electronics.
Key Responsibilities
Interest in iontronics development
Skills on ionic conducting polymer preparation
The position requires interdisciplinary skillset, strong communication skills and ability to manage complexity
Participate in the conduct of research project with research team members to ensure completion of deliverables
Collaborate with internal and external stakeholder on commercialization potential of the research outcomes
Mentoring and train junior students in the lab
Assist in grant writing
Maintenance of lab or equipment or supplies that include procurement and liaison with suppliers
Assist in high quality reports and documents that consolidate research findings
Job Requirements:
PhD degree in materials science or related field
At least 2 years of relevant experiences in similar role / technical hands-on experience in energy harvesting, sensing and actuators
Familiarity with required scope on flexible electronics
Good written and oral communication skills in English – essential for research purposes
Proficiency in materials synthesis, characterization, electrical data measurements and analyses
Competent in process integration
Excellent skillsets in fabrication of ionic conducting polymers
Advanced knowledge in 3D printing and inkjet printing
Expert in energy harvesting, Passion in sensing and actuators integration
Interpersonal skill (Ability to work independently / develop solutions under strict timelines, meticulous and eye for details / excellent organizational / time management skills)
Candidate with prior experience of more than 2 years working on energy harvesting or actuators
Candidate with prior knowledge on device fabrication and electrical measurements
Expert knowledge in novel materials for energy harvesting
