DEPARTMENTAL SUMMARY: The Foundation is focused on raising critical funds, support and awareness to best support the strategic direction of St. Charles Health System (SCHS). The team leverages philanthropy and community resources across the region and works in collaboration with SCHS leadership to identify the most urgent needs. The team ensures St. Charles is a recognized cornerstone of Central Oregon, committed to the health of community members and the economic development of the region.
POSITION OVERVIEW: The Annual Giving Officer is responsible for executing all annual giving strategies for the Foundation. This includes but is not limited to direct mail solicitations, cultivation and stewardship efforts and donor societies.
This position does not directly manage other caregivers.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES:
Develop, integrate and implement short, intermediate and long-term strategies for annual donors in collaboration with the philanthropy team to support annual giving and signature event goals.
Carries a portfolio of house donors.
Implement annual giving direct mail and electronic solicitation campaigns, which includes determining effective segmentation, creating and writing content, securing necessary approvals, and working with campus partners and vendors on processing and distribution.
Handle the logistics of multiple solicitation channels, including direct mail, email and giving days campaigns.
Manage Giving Together, the Foundation’s caregiver giving campaign, including identifying, cultivating, and soliciting caregivers for gifts in support of the health system’s funding priorities.
Work in partnership with the Operations Manager and Senior Marketing Production Specialist to develop and send timely communication pieces including e-newsletters, gratitude reports, and donor profiles.
Supports Grateful Engagement work, as needed.
Track and report moves management activity using Raises Edge NXT including identification, qualification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of prospective and current donors.
Report weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual activity to supervisor and Executive Director as part of responsibility to achieve annual giving revenue goals.
Assist with review and verification of donor prospect lists.
Participate in regular Foundation staff and organization-wide meetings.

Complies with all applicable laws, regulations, policies and procedures, supporting the organization’s corporate integrity efforts by acting in an ethical and appropriate manner, reporting known or suspected violation of applicable rules, and cooperating fully with all organizational investigations and proceedings.
Delivers customer service and/or patient care in a manner that promotes goodwill, is timely, efficient and accurate.
May perform additional duties of similar complexity within the organization, as required or assigned.
EDUCATION
Required: Bachelor’s degree in related field. Equivalent related experience may be considered in lieu of a Bachelor’s degree.

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRATION
Required: Ability to travel to business functions/trainings/meetings and all St. Charles Health System worksites.
Preferred: Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE)
EXPERIENCE
Required: Three (3) to five (5) years’ experience managing multi-channel campaigns in a nonprofit setting.
Preferred: Proficiency using multiple donor database software including Raiser’s Edge, Wealth Engine, and Classy as well as Microsoft Office tools including Word, Excel and Powerpoint.
PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT
Must be able to wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) required to perform the job safely.
ADDITIONAL POSITION INFORMATION:
Demonstrated ability to develop and sustains relationships with donors.
Must have strong knowledge of development principles and moves management. Superior interpersonal, oral and written communication and presentation skills with ability to represent St. Charles Foundation and St. Charles Health System in a polished and professional manner.
Should have experience effectively managing, coaching, and supporting volunteer “face-to-face” solicitors.
Strong organizational skills, ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects. Must have personal initiative and be friendly, outgoing and have a collaborative approach and strong team oriented style.
Excellent user of office technology and information systems (Microsoft Office Suite) including donor databases (preferably Raiser’s Edge).
