Position Summary
- Performs underwriting analysis and risk assessment for new business and/or renewal of large group contracts for PEO block
- Assigned book of business for fully-insured customers
- Prepares and presents highly complex quotes/renewals to internal and external partners
- Independently reviews work for accuracy, identifies risks, and makes recommendations to manage risk while growing or retaining
membership
- Assists department with projects or workgroups, including process improvement initiatives
- Anticipates questions and formulates responses
- Applies underwriting guidelines and grants underwriting exceptions/financial variances within variance authority limits
- Identifies training gaps and recommends appropriate course of action
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in underwriting pricing methodologies
- Advanced understanding of insured (risk) pricing
- Advanced ability to collaborate with internal partners (Sales, AM, Actuarial)
- Ability to present to both internal and external partners
- Advanced ability to utilize Excel and NURA applications
- Demonstrated success in collaborating with others to meet/exceed expectations
- Demonstrated ability to utilize analytical and independent thinking skills
- Demonstrated success prioritizing work and the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to identify training gaps and recommendations for a course of action
- Ability to lead process improvement initiatives to improve efficiency and accuracy
Education
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
Pay Range
The typical pay range for this role is:
$60,300.00 - $139,200.00This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
